Another football rule change. This one makes sense.

They're changing the targeting rule so that if the targeting is overturned on replay, so is the 15-yard penalty. Exception being if another 15-yard penalty (like roughing the passer) was also called. Then that penalty would still be enforced.

There's a thought that this rule and the hurry up rule will be part of the same legislation. They'll have to pass the 10 second rule to get this one.

This is a needed change. I can't wait until Bama is down 10 with 4 minutes left and can't go hurry up though.

Despite all the people complaining about new rules sissifying the game and such, concussions were down 25% in the NFL after only two years of new rules. And knee/leg injuries did not go up as predicted. That's significant.

Separate proposals. This isn't like Congress where a bunch of completely unrelated proposals are lumped together and voted on all or nothing.

This one had to be coming. There would have been an uproar from fans and coaches alike if the rule had stayed like it was.

I kinda like the 10 second rule too.
