is like putting on a new suit. We have the money, fan base and success and everyone else is playing catch up. The NY Yankee's have the only comparable organization in sports.

Since the merger in 1970, Dallas has a record of 373-259 and a .590 winning percentage which is the best in the NFC and third best in the league. 17 division titles which is the best in the league and a 32-21 post season record which is the best in the league. Nice try...

the last super bowl between dallas and the steelers?

...i was following this line of cowboy bashing right up to the point where someone throws out the way off tangent of OM delusion (not the same, btw)....now the steelers are thrown in?

while we are at it... when was the last time the steelers went undefeated for the entire season?

Jerry Jones killed it for me. He wanted to drive, fired Jimmy, and ran the bus off the cliff.

before Aikman got knocked the 17 out for the last time. Dallas, you're not special. You haven't been for 17 years. Let it go.

Their record is much less stellar. .500 win percentage. 6 playoff appearances. 1 playoff win. No title games.

I mean in the scheme of things who cares how much the Cowboys are worth. We are talking about results on the field.

For the last 15 years, they have been fairly irrelevant. Not bad, just irrelevant. They appear ESPN and the internet because their fanbase is delusional and loyal which is great for a guy like Jerry Jones that has successfully torn down every bit of success that Jimmy Johnson handed him.

Fans that are delusional and loyal, don't care about wins and losses and success in the playoffs. They care about the star on the helmet and the field. Screw the scoreboard.

Always love these threads. We've got some great players, a great coach, the best stadium, the best cheerleaders, and the best fans. Now we just need Jerry to, uh, "move on," and we can put those meat heads from pittsburgh back in their place.

Nailed it. No one gives two ***** about the $ value. We're talking results on the field where Dallas has been at best mediocre since the mid 90s.

I just don't understand how fans can convince themselves that the Cowboys are a dominant franchise in today's NFL. They were great back in the 90s.

BTW, the Dodgers just sold for $2B. Value and success on the field are not always parallel.

In the 16 years since the Cowboys last appeared in a Super Bowl, 10 other teams have won at least one (31% of the league) and 18 total teams have at least appeared in one (56% of the league). Seven teams have multiple appearances (Giants, Rams, Packers, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, and Colts) and five of them have multiple wins (Giants, Packers, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers).

All since the Cowboys were even in one.

As a fanbase, most of us are fully aware that we will continue to underachieve under the wrinkly thumb of Mr. Jones.
