Another hypothetical...If Mullen were to leave this year would you take Petrino?

Hell no. Petrino isn't the only guy that knows offense.

There are a handful of coaches that can move the ball at least as well as he can. 17 Petrino. Don't need his drama.

If history is any guide, there are two things we know about hiring Petrino.

Any team he coaches will become a BCS contender within 3-4 years.

His coaching tenure will not end well.

I'd love him as an OC for a year.

That would be truly making the offense around Russell.

No State employee who is doing his job correctly would hire Petrino. He is a liability risk.

He lied to the police, lied to his employer, and broke state and national employment laws by creating a job for his floosy and circumventing state mandated hiring procedures. Any college President who approves of hiring Petrino is essentially admitting that he has let football become more important than the university, and deserves the same punishment doled out at Penn State.

So let me see if I understand this correctly. Hiring your adult floosy should equate in punishment to molesting/raping children and then attempting to hide the crimes. Got it. Unbelievable.

Okay, so I used a little hyperbole. The point is, we were supposed to be learning a lesson from the PSU situation that promoting football should not take precedence over common sense in running a university. No University administrator should even consider hiring someone who flagrantly ignores employment laws and lies to cover it up.

That would be a huge mistake. Nobody in a major conference is going to hire Petrino for a while. He's not quite as unhirable as Jim Tressell, but he's close.
