even with room for only 15 or so. That's what he does every year. He works it like an NFL training camp. Bring in a big crop and then cut them back to the necessary players by their senior years. He's one of the only coaches I've seen who creates his own attrition rather than it just happening to him.
The NCAA won't do anything about it, and there won't be any articles about it. Heaven forbid you sign over 30 players and send some to Jucos, but feel free to not renew scholarships to guys who thought they had their school paid for. The worst part about it is that he does his final cuts in July and August leaving little chance for these guys to land somewhere else immediately.
Like I said, I wish we could be in position to do the same thing and just weed out the ones that aren't working out, but I'm still amazed this has gone on for 2 years in a row, going on 3 years in a row, with little to no media backlash.
