What about the no call on the UCLA guy taking a swing at Sterup or the terrible no call of a face mask. Terrible officiating.

Name a league that has good officiating these days. I am amazed at the scrutiny the officials are under with ultra slow mo and every camera angle including the turf view looking up. I generally think they do a good job but and they will miss things, it is a very fast game but what I dont get is when there are replays that show the call was wrong and it doesnt get corrected.

Not that I've caught, maybe check Rosenthal's twitter, he's been all over it since it happened.

@donahues17 fwiw, McMullen had a helmet to helmet on Rosen that wasn't called. Doesn't justify the other horrible calls and non-calls, just pointing out they missed one on us too.

When I re-watched the game I noticed that. We did dodge a bullet there.

I think refs need to be made available for press conferences after games. Pay them more as well.

@HTO, I agree that they make bad calls both ways in every game. Was that call you were talking about in the 2nd half? I was at work and didnt see much of 2nd half.

The ref was looking at right the McMullen hit. I have to wonder if he held off with the flag knowing how awful the flag was on Gerry. There is no way UCLA could argue with that no-call after what happened in the first half.

Which is what makes the Gerry call all the more strange after how many minutes of review time? I would assume that the officials have slo mo, regular speed, HD, and different camera angles equivalent to or better than us slugs at home. And I have yet to find anyone who thinks that was targeting. Including #1 Husker hater Mark May.

And, unlike normal blown calls which affect the one play in question, that one horrible blown call affected virtually every defensive snap for Nebraska the rest of the game, similar to if the UCLA quarterback would have been ejected for a personal foul he never committed. It showed up in the second half, for example, when they kept going to that swing pass time and again for yards after the catch.
