I'm assuming that Woodruff, Hudson, and Fitts all get starts at some point on opening weekend. And since it's a 4-game series, I think Bracewell or Sexton get the other start.
Lindgren is coming out of the pen. He will be this year's Girodo. Hudson or Sexton will probably get first crack at being the Sunday starter. The other one will most likely start midweek.
Thompson said we will pair guys up early in the season like we did last year. If I remember correctly, he said it would go something like this:
Woodruff/Bracewell
Fitts/Brown
Hudson/Sexton
not sure about fourth game
We have a ton of options as to who starts and comes out of the pen.
This years pitching staff is deep with talent. The first couple of weekends are about getting the starters pitch counts increased. Like Butch said two years ago Stratton was the piggyback pitcher to start the year off.
