haven't heard a thing about him this spring, per Marcello. I thought he was going to be our 3rd back. Now it looks like Griffin was in that spot with Adrian Marcus now being the 3rd back. Looks like Griffin's injury may hurt us a little more than I thought.

Robert is just one of those people. He's never been the same since the knee injury.

No quickness or elusiveness at all. He ran hard, which is good, but every play where he gained 1 to 2 yards would have been 4 for every other back on the roster. He just never got it back after his injury, if he ever truly had it at all. He was injured so early in his career that we will never truly know how good he could have been.

I agree. He just doesn't have it anymore. What I'm getting at is it sounds like Mullen has given up on him too because I have not heard one thing on him all spring.

What did he ever do before being injured? He was starting to look good against LSU and promptly got hurt.

I don't doubt he is still being held back by his injury.

But I never saw anything that made me think he'd be the next JJ Johnson or 'Zo Miller.

Sherrod's family ties to State's program were probably too strong for us to have a realistic shot at him, but the others were legitimate battles.
