anybody know why King didn't play week 1?

As suggested, HS has more than just King. However, with Romeoville being in rebuild, not sure how much this game tells us about HS.
As I have said a few times, the GBW game is a measuring stick game and should provide an indication of where we are.
Looking forward to what I am hoping will be a good game.
Well, let's hope we have better weather for you than we did for Bones this week. Field was a mess but heavy seeding and a week of hot sunshine may bake it back into reasonable shape.

We have had this discussion before and are not likely to agree. We play DGS in 2 weeks. This week we play GBW and look to put our best foot forward. I agree they are heavily favored as they should be. However, if we can play with them, I think that will say something about where we are. If we can't, that will say something as well.
As for 6A vs 7A/8A will not matter on Saturday. Everyone in our conference is 7A/8A, so this is nothing new. GBW is an elite program and work hard to be that. Not as a result of classification.
South is a program on the rise, they on their way to the glory days of the old Hinsdale South. Coach Barry and his staff have done an awesome job turning this program around. I hear they have 50-60 freshman out this season. This is year 5 of the Barry regime.
I love going to GBW games, stadium in the neighborhood, on a lake. Has a small college atmosphere. It'll be fun on Saturday. Hopefully it's close and HS covers.
