Any info on Pierson-el's injury?

I saw the video ... it looked like it may have been friendly fire?

Damon Benning had a pic of it on his twitter. Riley described this as an "ankle" injury. I am sure ankles don't go that high up. Don't look good at all.

Most reports I heard indicated his knee buckled. Further, it looks like it happens as his teammate and Pierson-El meet at the back of the end zone. The ESPN crew said it was gruesome.

Damn that looks bad. Poor DPE. I hate seeing players injuried. :(

You can hyperextend your knee like that and not cause major ligament damage although I would be surprised if he didn't tear his PCL with that picture I believe that was an injury that Bobby Newcombe played with or tried to play with. Hyperextending your knee like that hurts like hell but sometimes you can be back to full activity in a matter of a week or two if all you did is stretch things.

I blew out my ACL and slightly tore my MCL a few years back. Time stands still in weird situations, and I still remember looking down at my knee when it happened and it was this but bent the other direction. Strangely enough, it was the night the Huskers played Oklahoma and Prince picked the ball deep and ran it back to the two or so, and Zac Lee came in to run the two yard offense. That may have been Nebraska's last great win.
