Any legitimate reason why Manziel should not win the Heisman?

It is indisputable in my mind. However, it seems like ESPN really wants Te'o to win.

It has become the most valuable player on the #1 team in recent years. Not surprising that ESPN is on board with ******** like that.

I can't see any reason why Manziel shouldn't win it. His stats are insane but I don't think they do justice to watching him play. He has that "it" about him that you just don't find often.

Because it's another accolade the SEC will get.

Te'o is going to get the press now that they are going to the title game and could very well get it because of that. I think Manziel should get it because he's done all of his stuff against the best conference in the country. Notre Dame's schedule ended up being very mediocre. I think Te'o is a good player and I wouldn't have a problem with him finishing 2nd or 3rd. But Manziel has been unreal. He torched many SEC defenses this year and should get the credit for it. I think he has played the best football of anyone in the country and you can clearly see he's the guy that makes them go.

Only reason I see him not getting it is because a freshman has never won it before and you could see voters taking that into account.

Being Arrested in the Summer...

He was arrested back in June or July, and having an arrest record isn't part of the "heisman character", but they allowed Cam Newton and Reggie Bush to get it, so I don't think his criminal record matters...

He did get arrested, but it wasn't for breaking up the fight between a teammate and another guy the Fake ID he gave the cops is what got him...

I can't see a reason to give it to anyone else... Te'o is a good player... "good" but I am tired of ESPN slobbin' his nob like he is some kickass player... those 4 tackles he had tonight against an unranked team sure were special... He did get an INT that was thrown right to him... I bet if JFF was on that Irish team with the same stats, Te'o would not be getting any of this run... He isn't even in the top 50 tackles this year...
