BogeyGolfer and three other Dawgs will be there since we are playing on the road. We plan on having a gathering with cold beverages maybe a little Waylon and David Allen Coe in the background. I haven't been there since we played there two years ago and the parking was a nightmare.

I'll be there. I married a beautiful woman with one fault. She"s a die hard Rebel. We go to one or two games a year but always good ones. By that I mean we go to games like 'Bama last season, the epic OT Upig game a few years back, Vandy. The common denominator is they have all been losses for the Rebs. Well, we are going to the UT game with Rebel hopes at a 2 year high. Should be a fun weekend even though I will have to be partying on the inside when the game is over. Hook em!

I'm there. Married into a Rebel loving family. Call me crazy but I enjoy my annual trip or two up there. Free booze, food, and Rebel Club tickets. Why not enjoy it I say. Hoping for a good game and that I'm still coherent at the end.

I'll be there. I have lots of bear friends and a road game is always a good excuse to go see the bears get beat while getting drunk with my friends. Plus, it's great to see their faces after they get beat and I've never seen Texas play.

If y'all don't have tickets yet don't worry they haven't sold out. Tickets for their Super Bowl are still available on the athletics site. And just think you'll have the stadium to yourself after halftime.

With Rebel hopes at a 2 year high ain't saying much, heh!

Hopefully it will be a competitive game, and I think we have a (very) outside shot at the upset. Should be a good weekend to go to Oxford in any case... it's going to be wild.

Wait, tickets aren't even sold out for this?? I guess more people would rather get tanked in the grove than actually watch the game.

Not only did it not sellout yet

I just went on their site and you can get 8 seats together on the first row of the Sideline seats

while it is true that as of yesterday there

were about 400 tkts available, tkts are being sold for several hundred bucks in the "secondary market". go figure. i'm pretty confident predicting it will be a full house.

This is not directed at you as black bear fan. It's just an observation. The fact that there are black bear fanz suggesting even an outside chance at an upset says more about how far the T-sips have fallen than anything else. Seriously, that's f'n pitiful.

I have no doubt it will be a full house. Just very surprised it wasn't a hard sellout months ago. This is the biggest non-conference football game in Mississippi in a long time. At least since the MSU-Oregon game, but while Oregon was a higher ranked team, they don't bring nearly the interest or visiting fans Texas will.

I may be mistaken, but they have concrete platforms field level along the sidelines. For bigger games in the past, they've sold those tickets and put temporary chair seating there, where normally there is no seating there.

Introduce yourself as Denton Herring. Then mention you came to Oxford with DeVinner for the weekend, lots of recruits are there.

I thought about putting up a State Tent...

but I didn't want to come across as an ******* and listen to all the **** that would be spewed, so I think we are going to have a true tailgate somewhere near Old Taylor road. We are going to listen to our game on the radio....

The fact that we have a thread on Sixpack talking about who is going to the Grove this weekend is F'N PITIFUL.

Be sure to go by Lenora's off the square. Some of the best food and atmosphere around. One of buddies owns it. Been there several times..awesome.

Why? It's a chance to see a team that you wouldn't normally see play. I know a lot of State fans who are going.

Everyone is exactly the same. Lead the same lives. No one here has OM family or spouses. No one grew up near or in Oxford. No one lives there now. We should never go unless it is the egg bowl every other year! What the hell is wrong with you homogenous sons of bitches?!!!!

They just can't fake it no matter how much they try. If you want to see a real fan base enthusiastic about its team head to Starkville.

Tickets are still available on their athletics website. I just found a Section P Box seat for $80 from the University. Doesn't look like too bad of a seat. I might have to check it out.

I live in Oxford and will probably go to the game. If you get to Oxford early on Saturday and want to see some cool guns, come by Mississippi Auto Arms just off the square. You'll have a taste of what to expect when he opens his store in Starkville. The gun store alone is worth the trip to Oxford.
