If we get blown out? We’re talking like 2008 type beating. I really don’t understand why we would have to keep him if that is the case
No and yall all think the 2008 Egg Bowl was what did it for Croom but I saw Greg Byrne after the Georgia Tech game and I knew then from the look in his face, in September, that firing was on the table.

Well Arnett might have been 2-10 too with the way he was going. Never know. Is Barbay still at Houston or did he get fired there?
He very well may have. Although I think he would have at least beat freaking Toledo. But we wouldn’t have stuck with him for 2 more years even at 3-9.

As long as Mullen stays at UNLV one more year to see how he does in two year cycle I'm okay with keeping Lebby one more year. But then again. I don't want to see Taylor leave or get wasted
If we hire Mullen, I think Taylor stays. If we keep Lebby I’m not sure.

This is
Neither. Go get Sexton’s best available.

but this Lebby thing feels like Moorhead. Lebby has gotten arrogant, too confident in himself. Doesn’t show any humility. Like the position or the money went to his head. He hasn’t tried to connect or engage the fan base much. Strange things happen when you lose the confidence of the fan base and he could be one postgame go pound sand moment away from termination.
100% true, have been donor and BC member for over 20 years and have never felt more unconnected than now with the BC.

I trust what you're saying.

But after that egg bowl AND Crooms flippant post game press conference.... I knew his tail would kicked to the curb as soon as they got back to Starkville. "I don't know what happened today." What a jack ***

Do you really think the MSU administration would consider bringing Mullen back? Because I don’t.

But let’s assume they would. What would he want to come back?

going back to look deep in the history books and trying to find the worst loss in Mississippi State school history…. How could he possibly survive that?

Firing Lebby this year would be the dumbest mistake we have made in years. We have seen improvements this year and can expect to see them again next year. We aren't playing in a G4 conference so bringing in a G4 coach doesn't ensure success. We hired an OC to revive a program that was torpedoed by the previous coach. Our roster was poached and our new coach had to acclimate to being a head coach. We've seen our team be competitive in the SEC again. Some of the hires he made during last off season showed me that he understands his and his staffs limitations. I expect to see him make some additional changes after this season. Beside all that, I can't see any quality coach coming to State if we aren't willing to give them time to fix our problems.

But....you forget....Firing coaches is actually the favorite sport at MSU.

I can’t see how it would be a mistake, if you make a bad hire the sooner you cut your losses the better.

There is enough discord in the rebels this week that we may keep the game close. We would have to have a complete drumming by Ole Miss to lose our coach. I do know that many alumni and viewers have no voice in anything we do. It may all come down to how much we look like we have improved from last year.

I have rarely seen popular opinion change things, but you never know what may happen.
