A. It’s not really for university college students.
Sounds like it’s more of a vo-tech/manufacturing program. A good thing but as you say not for 4 year college students.

Expected to open in early 2026, the facility will provide hands-on training in composite material fabrication, repair and inspection, and simulate real-world environments that students may encounter in the workforce

Who says we didn't try? But, Airbus just graduated their first class of students from the Communiversity by the GTR airport in the past week or so, probably because it's right there by Airbus. Same with NG, their plant is 30 minutes or less away in Iuka. I think you need to find another reason to rail on MSU besides this one

I hope that includes office politics, brown nosers, and dickhead managers. Learning to deal with that is the best career training you can get.
Should also include a lecture on how you should NOT accept the continual invitations from the incredibly hot intern with the big knockers to join her group at happy hour on Thursday or Fridays, no matter how much she claims to be interested in how the company works in the field and how she wants to travel to plant locations. Just keep giving her your lunch order and sign for any packages that arrived for you.

Toss in lazy coworkers who don’t pull their weight. Group projects in college trained me well.
I often found the problem with group projects in college very similar to real work as well but as it pertains to “teamwork”.

a lot of people think team work is everyone sitting in a room working on the group project. It’s not. You meet. You assign different areas of the project to different people. You go home or away and work on that. You meet again and collaborate and reassign. You go away again and work. Rinse repeat.

This is a really good way to single out the lazy people and it’s way more efficient. Likely more effective too.

" A good thing but as you say not for 4 year college students."

Then again it may be an opportunity for some "4 year college students" at a better job than they have now.

Most of my group project meeting felt like 4th grade show and tell where nobody else showed up with anything to show or tell..

“I hope that includes office politics, brown nosers, and dickhead managers. Learning to deal with that is the best career training you can get.”

Or cat lady managers who has a axe to grind.

As a sophomore, we had a project to come up with a marketing strategy for either one fictitious business or multiple ones.

Our group came up with a strategy for the business to come up with an advertising slogan that would be repeated humorously among the intended consumers that would poke good natured fun at the people not using the product. Therefore using human nature among people to adopt to “fit in”.

We had previous examples of such successes like “real men of genius” by bud light and combined it with their “wazzzzup!!!” advertising to morph it into one.

Cat lady gave us a “D” on the project even though we were the only group to reference proven strategies. Brought me down to a B in the class.

Ironically, her explanation at the time is almost mirrored the identical goof that brought Bud Light to its knees a couple of years ago. “Need to get away from that kind of advertising to attempt to include a new share of consumers” or some ****. We were friken livid and should have went to the dean on her man hating ***.

Paccar has a training site at EMCC. I think companies are looking for CCs that aren't committed to another company. OM engineering aligned with Toyota because we were tied to Nissan. It makes sense so they can tailor the education to their business. EMCC trains for the steel mill as well.
