I love Boom, but backs like him are a dime a dozen. And the biggest thing is, he has never proven to be a good pass catcher, and when you are his size in the NFL, you MUST be able to catch the football

Man, I have a lot of dimes I would like to invest if you knew what you were talking about. Look at his YPC.

Couldn't be more sideways on this one. King will not only be here but if Boom leaves will be a major contributor. Gotta stop with the silliness about his size. Kid can run. He doesn't have to run over people and he isnt' going to break if he gets tackled. Shown in the spring game and later this year some of his talent. Just wait and you'll see.
And, a lot of backs would be fourth on the depth chart behind Boom, Benny and JoJo! Go Cats!!

how many passes has he caught?
17 his first year in limited playing time over 10 games
13 last year with a bad offense in 10 games and didn't play a majority of UL or UT game last year so 8 full games roughly
7 this year when UK probably threw 150 attempts less than the last two years.

so that answers your question. he's a great back who can catch the football when he is needed to. no offense he has played in has done many HB screens, they have all been tunnel screens to wideouts but when he's had his chances he has caught the ball. for his career he averages 7 yards a carry and 7 yards a catch.

I don't think either of you guys know much about King. A very good and elusive back when he has had opportunities, hopefully he gets more this year. He would probably be a great WR also, already returns kicks and on most special teams, how many games has he missed so far?
I'm not trying to run him off. I'd like to see him on the field anywhere he can help us... RB and KR are a start. If the hands are there, slot receiver seems natural. I do NOT have a clear sense of how soft his hands are, or comfortable he might be as a route runner. I just recognize that his utility at RB is wholly dependent on getting him in space. Maybe this O Line will prove so capable next season as to make that something we can regularly accomplish. We'll see. He certainly has the potential to serve like Holliday did at LSU, if he gets that kind of help up front.

I agree, he is a fine back, never said nothing to the contrary. To put it in perspective, Derek Henry of Alabama was arguably one of the best backs in the last 20 years in college, and he didn't get drafted until the 2nd round. So we think Boom will be drafted in 7 rounds? Hell, i hope he goes first! like i said, i love Boom, but the NFL don't value running backs like they used to, especially the smaller ones.
