Braden act like a little girl last night and try to go off on A-Rod. Give me a break. Hey Dal, when you do something, then you can act like that. Get out of here.

going back to first base. ARod knows that.

I thought it was bad *** of Braden. He said "That guy is superstar and he works for a high class organization, but you dont do that. I know I'm not a beep on his radar, but next time we face each other I will be."

ARod acted all surprised and stuff, but that's BS. He knew what he was doing. The next pitch Braden throws to ARod is going to hit him. That's awesome.

to say the pitcher overreacted is a huge understatement. I think a lot of the bitching is because it is Arod, and he is a player people love to hate. The fact that SF/Oakland radio thsi morning were also saying Braden was in the wrong says a lot

I kind of like it when a guy doesn't back down... He pitched a heck of a game and showed a lot of fire... He got a new fan in me, because I thought it was great. Baseball should have an outburst like that in every game by someone.

I think the reason most guys don't run over the mound is because:

A. The pitcher is standing there- this was an instance where a foul ball was hit, so the pitcher would have likely been either on or near the mound in front to get a new ball.

B. Maybe a fear of tripping over the mound and getting hurt. Much less of a chance hurting yourself running on a nearly flat surface as opposed to a mound in the middle of the field. I'm not saying that it's something that a player would consciously think about, but it's kind of common sense.

I really don't think A-Rod meant anything malicious by it. Maybe he did because he has done similar things before, but I don't think that's what he was going for.

I think Braden is a guy that's trying to establish himself as a Big League pitcher and he's just trying to send a message to the hitter's not to 17 with him. As silly as the whole situation sounds, I think this is what it really comes down to. A more established guy probably would not have been as sensitive about it. Or even noticed it.

I remember in a more normal situation when Mark Prior was a rookie in spring training he plunked Barry Bonds and the benches cleared and I remember Jonathan Papelbon starting a brawl because he hit someone his rookie year in spring training. It's the same principle, but the situation with Braden was a little more unusual.

I remember one time in the middle of the season, someone plunked Bonds on purpose, and NOBODY from the Giants bench moved off the bench. Bonds made a big deal of "no, guys, don't charge, everything's cool", but he was just trying to cover up the fact that nobody on the team had his back.

is that taboo? I've never heard of that. Hell his own teammate, Ziegler, even said as much. Beating the Yankees one time in April isn't doing something. Winning 1...ONE...title is.

Since it is Friday........we were playing Mooreville. I was the lead off batter than inning. We were in the 1st base dugout. So, I walk around the catcher and take some warm up swings just off the dirt near home plate. Well, this jackass from Mooreville decided he did not like that and sailed a warm up pitch at me. I looked at him like WTF? He says something about not timing his pitches. My coach, who was already in the 3rd base coaching box has a few words....telling him to cool off...etc. I get in the box and the first pitch is some chin music. Umpire threatens to throw him out of the game. His coach comes to the mound and has a talk...........dude was a dick. So much so, he could have been a Pearl Pirate easily.

I would have to kick the pitchers *** for that. You just don't do that. You could really hurt someone bad. At least when you are in the batter's box, you know that a pitch is coming. When a batter is taking practice swings and not expecting a pitch to be on the way, it's twice as dangerous.

That's bad umpiring to not kick the pitcher out for that, to- he wouldn't have even gotten the chance to throw some chin music if I was the umpire because he would be gone. And the coach could have bitched about not getting a warning all he wanted- I doubt that there is any way that he could prove that throwing at a guy that's not in the batter's box wasn't intentional.

There's no place in the game for that.
