Seems some family members are having a hard time accepting their angels aren't as good as they thought.

Says that Forrest Moore's dad is not happy with Dr. Linton and Cohen b/c of the way they handle injuries. He said that the nurses told him that he had a tear and then Linton came in and told him he was fine. He accused Cohen of telling the doctors to "not tell" the players their injuries so they don't "break down mentally" or "give up pitching." Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever read. He also replies to his own posts a lot. Pretty bad at the interwebs.

is the part about Dr. Linton. Although, I will say this on his behalf- I would take the word of a MD over a nurse any and everyday. And I work in the healthcare field side by side with both everyday. Nothing against nurses, but the fact of the matter is MD's are trained to read CT's, MRI's, and X-rays, and most nurses aren't. And as rule of thumb, you defer to the MD.

I think the real story here is this- I do believe that Moore has a tear or some other problem. Reason being, he had tendonitis in his elbow, which often times is an indication that a pitcher may have a ligament tear, usually requiring Tommy John surgery. I think Moore's options are to either have surgury and rehab, or he can quit baseball and just live with it and will probably be fine in life. From what I have heard, he will stay at MSU and just sit out baseball. And if that's his decision, I respect that.

there are much bigger concerns on his part than winning baseball games or keeping kids from getting down about baseball or whatever. he should be concerned with malpractice and courtrooms and lawyers. if he really is lying to the players like that, he will go down hard. and for that reason, there's no way he blatantly lies about there being no tear when there actually is.

he could easily get a second opinion from someone else and if they say there's something serious, that's real trouble for the university and linton.

but then you find out that your family member baseball player is barely D2, you have a tendency to project your denials of reality. "It can't be that he actually sucks. It must be the team gynecologist."

that it wasn't a misdiagnosis vs outright lying to. That would be kind of hard to do.

That's what it is. The guy is like half our team - has no business on an SEC baseball team. There's one or two that I am unsure should be playing competitive baseball at this time.

What I find interesting is that this whole "Cohen is a complete *******" mentality is centered around a few overly-sensitive posters over on the lake.

That ShortPorcHero tool posted somewhere over there that he used to talk with all of the Kentucky players after the game against MSU and they would all complain about how much of a smartass Cohen was and how they hated playing for him....blah, blah, blah. I'm assuming Gene deleted the post because I can't find it now.
