Anybody else but me just a little worried about this.

We had only 178 yards on 50 rushes against MTSU, and that included TD runs of 39 and 57 yards. Take those out and we averaged less than 2 yards per rush. Even with those we only averaged 3.5. There's no excuse for us not to have 250 yards rushing against that defense on 50 attempts. I'm happy to get the win, but this game should have been over by halftime, not in the 4th quarter. Props to our defense though. Even though MTSU is the 3rd worst (or possibly 2nd worst) offense we've faced, they played great.

unless it's a SWAC team. We lost to Houston because we couldn't score in the 2nd half and we looked bad on O again in the 2nd half against MTSU. I'm just glad MTSU didn't have a good O like Houston.

we committed to running the ball and they knew it. We never challenged them deep (thank God) and what you get is what you get.... A turnover free day and a decent win.

that we can not throw the ball down field. Until we do, continue to expect 3 yard averages or worse. We are completing passes, but they are all in the 0-10 yard range, which is keeping at least 8 defenders up at all times. And before anyone mentions Bumphis across the middle against Houston, 15 yards is not "down field."

How to compete 11 against 12. Anyone who watched fla-arky got an up close look at what 11 on 12 looks like. If this game somehow is magically competitive, which I do not expect, you can rest assured the 12th man will be there to protect the cash cow.

What? We put up 410 yards against JSU, but we put up 487 and 490 against Ga Tech and Houston. We all know the reason we didn't score enough in those games. So we didn't pile it on against MTSU...so what? It was a win. Who would have thought after 5 years of that dumb Walrus *******, we'd be bitching about 333 total yards in a WIN.

Over the past 2 or 3 games, we've run twice as much as we pass. If we continue to do that, then it'll be harder to run because teams are going to start to stack the box. I know the run is our strength, but we need to open it up more for these last few games.

and that is why we couldn't run the ball as well as some of us expected. The failure to convert on 4th and less than a foot to go put the spotlight on the regression in our offensive line play. Nevertheless, other than the final score, the only other stat that really mattered from Saturday's game was this: zero turnovers. Mullen played it safe and extremely conservative. That is all.

I am hoping we are just better suited at blocking big and strong than we are at blocking small and fast. Houston and MTSU both had small/quick D-Lines.

Conversely, we blocked pretty well against teams like LSU.

since both of the above conditions are false, please pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

aside from Dixon, our other RB's- Ducre, Elliott, and Stallworth are all average on a wooly day. I think the best of that bunch is Stallworth, and that's saying something.

Next year without AD, and either Russell or Newton, I think we will be more of a passing team.
