Anybody else find it a little odd that...

what, specifically, is your arguement? and do you have data to support it?

it seems Tebows 08 & 09 numbers are pretty similar...

in fact, if Timmy did "get worse" it was more so from 07 to 08....

I understand that Mullen might have put Tyson in more of a situation where his talents would fail him thus making his stats seem worse. He asked more of Tyson whereas Croom didn't. But you can't argue with 5 INT's vs 14 INT's. Plus all the fumbles Tyson had. Any success we had offensively was because of Dixon.

But I wouldn't expect you to understand such finite data. I believe you've said in this thread that, even though Tebow's stats were better last year than in '08, he clearly regressed last year (I can only assume this was sarcasm, but still . . .); and, even though Lee's stats were worse last year than in '08, he was clearly better last year. So I won't confuse you with any more facts.

Who cares? Mullen's not our QB coach. And for the record, I don't think anyone who spoke highly of in did it in regard to QB mechanics or easing pain. When Mullen has been credited in his work with QB's, it has been in reference to the fact that he has been really good at maximizing the results experienced by the QB's on the field. It doesn't matter what they look like doing it or how they do it, it just matters that they do it. Mullen has been very good at getting the most out of his QB's on the college football field.

And I love that Alex Smith is sometimes brought up as evidence that he's not great with QB's, that he had 1st pick talent but hasn't done anything with it. Uh....doesn't this SUPPORT Mullen? Either the guy didn't have great talent but Mullen made him perform so well that he was drafted #1 overall, or without Mullen's coaching, he has regressed to below his talent level and isn't playing well. Either way, all signs point to Mullen being good for him at Utah.

Goat has been doing that for at least a half dozen replies so far.

If you can't see the stark difference that a competent HC can make in just one year, there really is no hope for you. Our ppg jumped from around 15.5 to over 26. I never said that the players he coached regressed, I said Lee was worse statistically which is quite concrete.

You're also backtracking now, saying Lee wasn't worse, he "would have given you the same results".

Way to take the quote totally out of context. What I said was Lee under Mullen in 08 would have produced the same type of record as Lee under Mullen in 09 produced. Conversely, Lee under Croom in 08 = Lee under Croom in 09 as far as results on the field. I'm typing slowly this time so you can hopefully understand. M u l l e n w a s t h e d i f f e r e n c e i n t h e t w o s e a s o n s, n o t L e e o r h i s s u p p o s e d l y i m p r o v e d p l a y m a k i n g a b i l i t i e s. Its amazing how a competent coach, a well designed offense, and a well crafted game plan can play to your team's strengths (i.e. the running game) and make up for and/or minimize your weaknesses (i.e. QB who throws 14 ints vs 4 TDs and has 9 fumbles). I know that is a weird concept since we have just come out of 5 years of Croom, but it does happen.

It was the absence of Percy Harvin.

I didn't look up the stats on Tebow, but the reason Florida's offense wasn't quite as dominant last year as it was in 08 was the loss of Harvin.
