Anybody else have the feeling that this is just our year?....

Kind of like the year we went ot the title game against UT when we had a lot of things go right for us. We are playing great error free football for the most part and we are coming up with plays when we need them to win games. But we are also having our share of good fortune that you have to have to have that special season. Tyler is having an outstanding year no doubt. He only has 1 int I believe on the entire season. But I'd be willing to bet that he's in the top 10 of the woulda, shoulda, coulda been interceptions list. How many have opposing teams just flat out dropped this year against us? Our running backs and receivers take great care of the ball (with the exception of Smith), and our defense, specifically Slay and Banks, are great at turning the other guys over. We've survived missed fg's, terrible kickoffs and given up 2 td's on returns. But when it matters and the game is on the line, we do something to get the job done. It just seems to me that this is just shaping up to be, or the stars are alining, or whatever chiche' you want to type to be a special year for this team. Let's hope the good fortunes continue to go our way!

if we get a holding call against bama, you can add that to your list...

No I don't think we have lucked into this ...I think we have an extremely bright guy calling the shots that knows we don't need to get to high or to low and we need to always have something for that moment when we need to get it. We have some very experience players in some very key spots and our winnable game are at home this year, instead of on the road "getting a couple calls"

The one thing I like about what I see is the team chemistry that was tied together by the great leadership skills and talent of Tyler Russell. It looks to be one of our best since 99'. What happens next year is anyone's guess when losing 13 seniors.

I agree. Our players really seem to like playing together and seem like they are having fun. Not worried about stats - play for name on the front of the jersey, not the back.

I think Russel has been a great leader, but overall there is not just one player stepping up when we need. Anytime the camera scrolls across our team you will see players beating their chest, or waving for the crowd to get on their feet. Just watch the emotion that Banks invests into the game and it is no surprise to me that our team is full of players who want to lead us
