Anybody ever hear anymore on that Nash Nance Da'Rick Rodgers rumor?

I don't know if it was true or not, but someone on here earlier this week posted something about Nash Nance and Da'Rick Rodgers and their supposed mutual interest in still talking to MSU. I didn't think the rumor really had much to go on, but I didn't know if someone knew anything solid about either of them even expressing interest in us this far after they commited to their current schools.

Orgeron recently came to town sniffing around. I think it was a not-very subtle attempt to get Nance and his number one target and bff who is committed to UGA. I merely made the point that if recruits like Brunetti were subject to flipping, and if UT was going after Nash, that at the very least we should get after him too. Gotta tell you though, he aint the answer. In any event, I got no reason to believe that either Nash or Da'ricky are interested.

Unless Brunetti gets home and decided to change his commitment. Still think that's only a 25% shot or so.

Thus I imagine we'll try to get Nash to visit and give us a look.</p>

There actually is substance to the rumor, per Chad Simmons of scout. It's clear Nance is looking around after Vandy took a 2nd QB, and we will go after him if Brunetti doesn't switch soon. If we get Nance to visit, the likelihood of which would be high if we went after him, Rogers would likely join him for a midweek visit the last week before signing day. Do I think we would have a shot at Nance? Absolutely; he largely picked Vandy originally because they promised him they'd be the only QB they took, and that wasn't true. We were very high on his list and would certainly have a chance. Would that give us a chance at Rogers, too? Yes. The reason people think they might be a package deal is because they have said that in the past, and the reason they didn't originally commit to the same school is because the only schools who went hard after Nance were Vandy and us, and Rogers didn't want to go to Vandy. I still think if Nance had picked us, Rogers may have followed suit. For what it's worth, it's also possible that Florida goes after Nance. Why? Because they, like most, know that if a good program gets Nance, there's a good chance to get Rogers as well. It isn't just a guess. There is a real possibility, if it doesn't work out with Brunetti, that we bring both in for a visit. I think if we were to get Nance, our chances would be about 50/50 with Rogers. Not a guarantee by any means, but a definite possibility.

when they originally committed to different schools?
I agree.

If they are both visiting some schools, it's just because Rodgers is trying to help his boy Nance by giving false hope to schools that the two will commit. Rodgers ain't switching.

I sorta thought he was just a little too opportunistic. Turns out he's pretty down to earth. Da'Ricky, on the other hand, is another story. Number One Daughter goes to school with 'em and she likes both, for what its worth. I saw Nash play all year and am just not convinced he's SEC caliber. Rogers, again, is another story.
