Anyone else feeling an All-Harbaugh Super Bowl?

I don't know what the Vegas odds were on the 49ers winning the Super Bowl this year but I never dreamed they would even get this far.

With all these high octane offensive passing attacks in the NFL right now, it is good to see the old fashioned football that the Harbaugh boys are winning with.</p>

Only 1 is an elite level offense, though I think right now you have to say the Giants have the best combination of offense and defense of the teams remaining. The 49ers and Ravens are both average at best offensively, though they're elite on defense. The Giants are at least above average offensively with an elite level defense (the way they're playing now at least).

The Patriots are still all offense. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I really think the Saints lost the Super Bowl on Saturday with hindsight. Had they beaten the 49ers, they'd be playing the next two games in domes, playing their version of Playstation offense.

I'm thinking Patriots and 49ers. Just shows that defense is still important. Three of the four teams left are basically defensive teams with only the Patriots being left that is more an offensive team. Packers and Saints who were the 2 best offenses in the league were both eliminated by turnovers and poor defense. Still can't believe the Saints played so much man coverage in the final few minutes of their game after taking the lead twice. They got burned doing it.

although I think Baltimore will have a much more difficult time getting there. I have to hand it to Eli and crew, they popped Green Bay in the jaw last night but I'd much rather play them than New England right now.

Being a long time Niner fan, I'm still in a little shock as to way this season has been going. I kept waiting for reality to set in while expecting them to drop a few games in a row, but Harbaugh kept them playing strong all season. Now, they're close to be a favorite to win the damn title. Unbelievable. Plus, Alex Smith has to be the feel good story of the league this year. I've been waiting on him to show me anything for the last 7 years, and I thought that Harbaugh would be a perfect way to get a fresh start with a new QB. When they went into this season with him saying that Smith was going to be the guy, I thought "you gotta be 17ing kidding me". He just never seemed like he had the mental capacity and confidence to be a starting QB in the NFL. Well, he may not be making the pro bowl this year but he's done a damn good job. If he ends up winning a ring, it will be an awesome story.

Agree with what you are saying. But don't discount the 49ers offense. Never thought I'd say that.

Alex Smith played out of his mind. You can say the Saints shouldn't have played man-to-man. But many times, the saints DB had good coverage, but Alex Smith threw a picture perfect pass to the receiver to make a completion. I don't know if he can keep paying like that. But if he does, I couldn't say their offense is a liability.

I'm just curious to see what Alex Smith and the 49ers will do against stronger defenses like the Giants right now or if they play the Ravens in the Super Bowl.

It's still hard for me to be a believer in Alex Smith. Vernon Davis is a man though. I just think he's going to see a lot more pressure this week, and it's going to be tough. I'm betting 49ers-Giants ends up a 21-17 type game.

I have a hard time getting a read on the Ravens-Pats. The Ravens did destroy NE last year at NE in the playoffs. A good ground attack, which the Ravens have, can do damage on the Pats easily. If the Ravens defense can even slow down the Pats offense, you have to like the Ravens. It's hard to bet against the Pats's offense the way they've been playing though. It's the unstoppable force against the immovable object. I see that game playing out a lot like the Saints-49ers game did. It's a very similar match up in terms of strengths and weaknesses. My guess is points will be scored on both sides. We'll see who can score the most. It's a coin flip in my opinion.
