Jeez I hate these games. I will pace about 15 miles in my living room tonight.

The roles feel oddly reversed from 2009:

*2009 MSU has new coach after beatdown previous year in Egg Bowls / 2012 Ole Miss has new coach after previous Egg Bowl beatdowns

*2009 Ole Miss ranked around 25th after being ranked higher early on / 2012 MSU ranked around 25th after being ranked higher early on

*2009 Ole Miss 8-3 / 2012 MSU 8-3

*2009 MSU several heart breaking close losses but comes through in Egg Bowl / 2012 Ole Miss several heart breaking losses but ???????

2009 nutt let's his team slept walk

2012 that's the last thing Mullen will let happen. They might win by out playing us but we won't be sleep walking.

Here's the difference: 2009, OM put EVERYTHING into beating LSU that year... and did. They are at a disadvantage playing LSU prior to us. I think Mullen realizes the weight of this game. OM fans and players thought they were going to roll into Starkville and roll out with a win (I know several who already had hotels booked in Orlando for New Years). They already had us marked as a win and everyone in red and blue expected it would be as easy as it was the year before. We got no respect that year... and frankly, we haven't gotten much respect this year. That is a HUGE difference between 2009 and this year.

I don't think many state fans expect tonight to be easy... many I know are as worried as you. They are a bad matchup with our defense, and every one of us knows it. We are the underdog tonight and Mullen WILL have us ready to play tonight. It's obvious none of us are looking past them this year. I am convinced OM believes they are rivals with LSU and they would rather us just not exist. We live to hate them.

I self-medicate with beer (not a gallon of cough medicine). I will be crazy nervous by game time and have already been told I will be banished to my man cave in the basement if it goes badly for us. The fridge is stocked down there too just in case.

The matchup with their O makes me almost as nervous as the fact that they finally have a coach circling us on the schedule. They won't admit it but considering post season implications and the last 3 years of losing, this is their superbowl.

****, my wife is the one saying she can't watch tonight. I just got off of work and already cracked open one. I'll be nauseous by game time, because I'll be switching over to jack.

I used to be that way. But I actually think we will win tonight. Won't be easy, but get it done. Probably a bad sign I feel this way.

I just struggled to choke lunch down. I'm ready for this damn thing to get going. I'm not looking forward to clock watching from the stands before the game.

First year I've felt like this. This is the first time I can remember where I've felt like we have a significantly better team but are still going to lose.

I keep envisioning a start like the A&M game. Their defense seems to be tough at the beginning of games, ours seems to be asleep. I can see them getting up a couple of quick scores, us getting a couple of quick 3 & outs, and us trying to claw out of a hole on the road after we've just thrown away our biggest advantage by allowing their defense a free quarter so they don't get worn down in the fourth. I feel pretty good that we will outplay them in the second half, I just don't know if it will be enough if we start off slow.
