Seriously, are you kidding? USM has been reduced to recruiting out of state now. Fedora ran his b.s. to recruits the first three years about how he was going to build USM into another Boise State or TCU and how OM and MSU would remain at the bottom of the SEC. He is quite the bullsh#t salesman. He talks a great story. DeAndre Brown and a few others actually bought into it.

Well, when you lose back to back games to UAB, you aren't going to be confused with Boise or TCU and when MSU slaughters Michigan in a New Year's day bowl, that takes care of MSU being in the bottom of the SEC. Only hope he has now is that his prediction about OM is true. I must admit I am pulling for that one to be true.

Seriously man, all you ever post about is topics that have to do with USM. You and the nine other USM fans need to spend your time taking care of a new eagle. You know, instead of killing it.

Not sure why Yancy was posting rumors about an MSU commit possibly having USM get in the game, but his reasoning was that Arrington's grades were borderline and USM was trying to sell him that they could get him in immediately even if his grades fell just a little short.

It's the same sales pitch USM used on DeAndre Brown to get him over Ole Miss and LSU. It worked, and Brown ended up having the grades anyway, so it didn't matter. He ended up wasting away in purgatory when he could've been in the SEC.

It's probably nothing, but what you're saying sounds eerily similar to what Yancy said a week or so back, which could just mean that Yancy is the source of the rumor your Dad's buddy heard, or it could mean the rumor has legs. You have to love the last week or two before signing day.

just pointing out that he could be the source of the rumor that got around. Whether there is any truth to it or not you'll know soon enough.

As I said, the week or two before signing day are always fun because of the rumors.

And I said months ago I expected this year's recruiting to be nastier than normal in Mississippi. It seemed like there were a lot more Ole Miss/MSU head to head battles than normal with very few players that were locks to one school or the other. So far that has proven to be accurate. It has gotten ugly, but that's what makes it fun.

never seen it this bad and I hope it doesn't stay this way because this crap has a tendancy to make perfectly normal adults act like idiots and I'm not leaving myself out of that group.

Wasn't this talked about a few days ago. Some guy named Chase Parham wrote a bogus story basically making this all up and it has been circulated through Yancey etc? The Stone County Coach got all mad and made a statement.

Or am I thinking about the wrong recruit?

It's not that Ole Miss wants our recruits. They just don't want us to have them. AKA little brother syndrome.

No you are correct, this was talked about a few days ago. This croomcream, his dad, and his dads friends don't know ****. I am from stone county and I assure you I ask my conact that in the school district all the time and USM has never came up. The only problem with Arrington is getting qualfied, but he is working very hard to make it. If he does qualify just remember he and the teachers put a lot of effort into it so that may speak good of his character, which I highly appreciate given the circumstances with the rest of the recruitin season.

I seem to remember a thread on this board discussing Floyd Raven's decommitment from us, even though MSU wasn't even recruiting Raven.

For instance, it would be the equivalent of me going to Nafoom, let's say, three years ago, with a username like GroveTard or whatever and saying something like "Guys, I think we're going to get nailed on this Michael Oher deal. There's a black cloud circling the Tuohy's and the 'circumstances' under which they brought Michael into their home. I heard his initial NCAA interview didn't go so well and some of the things he said back during his freshman year aren't really jiving with some statements that are coming out during all the press his senior year.I'm concerned that the NCAA is going to bring the hammer down on us because ofOher. Damn Orgeron."

The truth being that I'm a huge State fan and I wouldn't have known crap three years ago outside my own speculation. My sole intentionwould havebeento try to crack a little bit of doubt and throw a little bit of cold water into what would have been an otherwise once ina generation season for Mississippi University fans (Cotton Bowl win, Huge NFL class, Blind Side, Preseason Hype). This also forces a response from two sets of m.u. fans, thepanic button pushersand the homers, both of which are wins for the concern troll because either way it gets Mississippi fans talking about something negative and possibly reinforces (and quasi-legitimizes) the plausible but unfounded concern thatthe concern trolljust made up.

The panic button pushers probably saw another (or the same) concern troll writing the same drivel on another message board, so they say "guys, i heard the same thing on ... I dunno... bleacher report or some other garbage site." The corroboration of another flimsily sourced site reinforces the concern troll drivel.

The homersare going to get overlydefensivesay something dumb like "Ole Miss never did no cheatin'. We are on a roll and are gonna win the SEC West again this year! Don't pay attention to the lamestream media. They don't want no Mississippi school in the top 10. Hoddy Toddy." The homer 'doth protest too much' and legitimizes the concern troll's action by bothering to respond at all.

Of course, if I had done that on Nafoom, it probably would have gotten overlooked in a sea of virtual bro-hugs aboutpink ties being manlyon Saturday mornings or which side of my head i should hang my bangs over.

Either way, easiest way to spot is to notice that almost every single post by said troll is some sortof hand wringing or panicky tripe about our program going down in flames.

Yes, I'm talking to you too, Liam McPoyle.

Best thing to do is call them out on it and move along.

Wow, the nine fans comment. Never heard that one before. You are just too tough for me. Do I feel put in my place. I bow to your intimidation.
