Anyone optimistic about us beating Arkansas this weekend?

I just cannot seem to muster much enthusiasm because of our lack of success there but I do reserve the right to sprout wool at a moment's notice if we win. The Egg Bowl will be standing room only if we do happen to win though.

and the only reason I give us that much of a chance is because of our success on the road this year. Arkansas owns us home or away. My prayer is that T Lee some how throws it to the guys in maroon and doesn't fumble. Feed dixon the damn ball till he pukes and our d-backs play the game of their lives. Same thing we have been hoping for all year I guess.

No way we win this game. That's why you are seeing very few posts on this weekend game. It is simply a formality that we get beat.

If somehow our offense wakes up and our secondary decides not to get burned on the deep ball, and we miraculously win this game, I do think that we will beat Ole Miss and get to a bowl. If this weekend goes the way it should with us suffering an Auburn-type loss, I give us a 30 percent chance of beating Ole Miss.

I remember no one gave us any chance of winning that one, and we came out firing on all cylinders. Not likely we win, but to say there is "no way" is a little extreme.

We should have beat Houston. If we can "should have beat" Houston, we ought to be able to beat Arkansas. Whether or not we convert shoulda, coulda into a W is the real question.

Can we have less than two turnovers? Can we avoid fumbles? Can we not snap the ball into MiniLee's shins? If we avoid turnovers (plural) and make plays that are there to be made (like completing a pass to Wilder when he is 5 yards behind the secondary), then we win. If not...same movie, different week.

we can outscore the top offense in the league with mini lee? It's nice to dream but I'm sorry Ive lost all hope that we can win these last two games. I pray that I'm wrong.

Mullen has shown that our team doesn't give up and even when we feel at our worst I've been surprised how we have rebounded the following week. Last weekends blowout loss to Bama seems devastating but I think we still got a good chance in this game. If we get beat by 20 or more then call me a dumbass after the game but I think we keep it close. Close to the point we have a shot at winning this thing in the waning minutes. Arkansas defense is not good and we can get a few big stops here and there. It will basically come down to holding them on 3rd down (a huge weak point for our D) and then not losing the turnover battle. And Mallet must be pressured to make up for our porous secondary. If Dixon is fumbling the ball then I'll quit on our team for the season.

Overall I expect an entertaining SEC football game this weekend in Arkansas. One that will display lots of points and at the same time won't be decided until the clock hits 00:00. Strong rushing from MSU and strong passing from Arkansas. We still have a lot at stake this season. No reason to give up now.

Arkansas is horrible on defense. I'm quite sure we will move the ball. If we are even or on the plus side of the turnover margin, I think we win.

I've gone back into Crooms mode. It feels like the air has been let out. But, I know if we can get a couple turnovers, blitz a lot, and hold on to the ball we could have a chance. If we played eastern michigan and troy i bet Dixon would have had huge numbers, much like mullet.

Running the ball- which we should be able to do- and not turning the ball over. Not so confident about the not turning the ball over part. If we can control the clock and keep it out of Mallet's hands, that will help us out a lot and should give us a chance to win.

this is always a let down game for us with Bama and OM sandwiching it in. i would be happily surprised to see Mullen get the guys mentally ready for this game and win it. that is going to be one hell of a tall order though. and this is not to mention the obvious matchup problems we have with their passing attack.

in my opinion the only reason to be anywhere near Little Rock this time of year is if you are heading north to the Little Red River to catch some brown trout spawning after the game. otherwise the entire trip would be just damn disappointing.

I stamp my name on this game. If we don't win, I'll stay off this board all next week! We are going to kick some Arky ***! Smoke some sausage! Eat some pork chops! It's not over till the fat lady eats a hamhock!

ok, I'll be in the woods all next week hunting, but I mean it....we're gonna win this one

while it was in starkville, and they didn't have mallett, i still expect this to be a good game. i think dixon will go off despite arkansas' decent run d. he's got two games left, and a bowl is still a possiblity. he will carry the team tomorrow. in the end i think y'all lose a close one, but i wouldn't be surprised to see y'all win. y'all are due for a win in the state of arkansas.

You guys are looking at the Bama game, and looking not much further. Other than some Int's we did no better against Fla.'s D.
We can play against the worst D in the SEC, by 50 yards a game...yes we are #11
This will be a very hard game, because they will lite up our D secondary...but it has been shown...if you pressure their QB they are certainly beatable.

I'm just not going to throw in the towel...this team has been taught to compete.

We Do Have a Chance.

As it draws closer, I am getting a tad bit fired up. I am back and forth on winning. I think mostly it is wishful thinking because I am going. However..

The things that concern me are they have throttled their opponent in their last three home games. AU, USC, and Troy. They are playing well. I am hoping maybe they over look us. However, Mallet has been quoted as saying it is the last home game and they want revenge for last year's loss. They will be gunning for us.

The positives are....each game is independent of the next. What they did vs USC and AU will not matter in our game. What will matter is if our defense can slow them down and if we can put up 28 or more points. We are capable. We played LSU and GT well. Their defense, while better than last year, can be scored on. I think DIxon will be fired up.

Everybody is talking about offense. But my question is if our secondary can cover their guys in man coverage. If our secondary can handle all the pick routes they run. If we can get a rush on Mallett. OM and Bama did these things but we don't have the defensive talent they have.

Bottom line, this will be like playing Houston, except Arkansas is more talented and has a better defense. We are going to need some turnovers and/or a special teams score.
