I am. They are easily one of the four best teams in the country and are probably playing better than anyone. Fun team to watch. I'm sure the other contenders are glad they got left out.
One of the best 4?
They beat Purdue, Arkansas, Boise State, NC State, Southern Cal, Boston College, Navy, Pitt, Syracuse and Stanford
Which one of those games gave you the belief they can beat the best teams?

Easily one of the four best? Playing better than anyone? They get monkey stomped by the top 6 for sure, maybe top 8.

Why would they? They have their own TV deal and have to split that money with nobody. It would be stupid to join a conference.
Because of what happened today???
But ND makes about 50M--the Big Ten makes more than that

Indiana, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oregon and maybe Texas Tech can win
The 8 seed won last year; who you likely don't think should have been in.
Oregon has no shot to win whole thing. Ole Miss has no shot. Winner will be from Texas tech Indiana osu and Georgia. I had no problem with Osu getting in last year and thought they were one of top teams.

I don't feel bad for the institution or their fans. But in general, I think that team has a much better opportunity to get to the semifinals than Bama does of winning one game. It just surprises me that a team can lose to two playoff teams by 4 total points but get left out for a team that lost by 2 TDs to a 4-8 team and has sputtered to the finish line over the last month. But, it's one less team to root against in this playoff. There are plenty of others.

So, last year, you felt that Ohio State, Oregon and who else were capable of winning?
A&M absolutely can win the whole thing--their path will just be tough but it's supposed to be tough for the teams not in the top 4.
Oregon could play Indiana & Texas Tech--I think they can beat both (I know Indiana beat Oregon earlier but Oregon beat Ohio State last year in the regular season) then it comes down to can they pull off an upset.
The good news is we'll find out of the field

How I see it right now: going into yesterday Notre Dame was already eliminated. Every possible scenario went their way yesterday and zip.

Not losing any sleep over it, this is me “just saying.”

Not quite though because it was probably Duke winning that led the committee to take Miami(FL) over ND in order to ensure an ACC rep. If UVA had won, probably a decent chance the Irish get in over the Canes.

This is a valid argument. I forgot that Virginia would have gotten in as one of the five highest ranked conference champions, and Miami was given an at-large slot.
