Our multiple J.D.s, does this sound feasible ?
How Miami (10-2) dose not make the ACC Championship game over (7-5) Duke is crazy. Should have been able to play for it vs UVA.Also just in general: if head to head for two comparable teams doesn’t matter then you just need to blow it all up and start over. That being said, Miami(FL) should have been ranked higher than ND in previous releases
Really ****** for Notre Dame to quit on the bowl game. Can't imagine being a senior and missing out on the last game you'll ever play because of a tantrum by your University.
Antitrust laws, for all their focus on rational competition, sometimes produce irrational resultsTheir beef should be with James Madison and Tulane displacing them.
There is a ton of ND talk but what about BYU? Also jobbed….

What bowl do you think they would have played?
Big Ten should drop every scheduled game with them for all sports. There isn’t any real incentive to play them anyway. No one cares what fans want and schools are turtling up - it’s all about easy schedules and wins. They say they have to fend for themselves? Let them.
I heard they have accepted a bid to play in the Stay at Home Depot bowl! They basically are part of the ACC bowl affiliations so likely the Gator Bowl.
Heck, Notre Dame is literally an affiliate member of the conference (in men's ice hockey) so that would be awkward.

Why do they get special treatment like this? It is their choice to forgo full membership in a league. It is...but that will change in 2027
Going to be constant changes
Baylor opts out too.

Did you know the CFP playoff committee which has three former coaches, watched a replay of Miami's dominating win over ND before the committee voted? Word I heard on radio was the coaches all agree ND was badly outplayed in that game so the head-to-head had an impact on the vote. They might have a case. Did you see that the ACC Network replayed the Miami Notre Dame game on a loop the other day?
Because the others allow them to get away with it. I hate ND but as long as the conferences cater to them why shouldn't they take advantage? Why do they get special treatment like this? It is their choice to forgo membership in a league.
Baylor shouldn't be fined. They were 5-7 and only in that situation because of others. We'll see though...if they do fine them even better to try to kill the bowlsWell, that's now $1.5 million in fines for the Big XII admin coffers with three teams opting out.
Don't forget, last year all top 4 seeds lost their 1st game.Oregon has no shot to win whole thing. Ole Miss has no shot. Winner will be from Texas tech Indiana osu and Georgia. I had no problem with Osu getting in last year and thought they were one of top teams.
That's what you get for hitching your wagon to NBC as opposed to ESPN, home of the CFP...and the SEC and ACC.The next time I think PSU is getting screwed, I'll try to remember that Miami didn't make the ACC championship and ND missed the playoff. Honestly never thought id see the day where the powers that be wouldn't move land and sea to get ND into the playoff.
Why so high? I hope every year for them goes exactly like this year did for PSU.They are hypocrites in oh so many ways. Join a conference. Until then I’m praying rosaries for them to be ranked 13th next year.
Deftly phrased. The next time I think PSU is getting screwed, I'll try to remember that Miami didn't make the ACC championship and ND missed the playoff. Honestly never thought id see the day where the powers that be wouldn't move land and sea to get ND into the playoff.

Rankings are different this year than lastDon't forget, last year all top 4 seeds lost their 1st game.
True. You could certainly argue Boise and AZ St werent top 4. But im not sure there is a case against Georgia and Oregon. They were top 4 teams.Rankings are different this year than last
The ACC has some weird tiebreaker rules. They (the ACC) screwed themselves. How Miami (10-2) dose not make the ACC Championship game over (7-5) Duke is crazy. Should have been able to play for it vs UVA.
In the year 2060, when the lastest version of Trivial Pursuit is out, there will be a question in the sports and leisure category: What did Notre Dame and Penn State football have in common during the 2025 season? Neither were invited to the 2025 CFB championship.
Why so high? I hope every year for them goes exactly like this year did for PSU.
This is one of the dumbest posts. Notre Dump beat no one with a pulse. They lost to the two playoff teams they played. If they had any guts and joined a conference like the B10 or the ACC they would have 3 losses. If they had Penn State's schedule then they lose to Oregon, Indiana and Ohio State. They played no one and got exactly what they deserved. Bama beat Georgia at Georgia and earned their way to the SEC ccg. Notre Dump earned nada except a seat on the couch to whine and cry like the crybabies they are.I am. They are easily one of the four best teams in the country and are probably playing better than anyone. Fun team to watch. I'm sure the other contenders are glad they got left out.
Then don’t whine about not making the playoffs. Why would they? They have their own TV deal and have to split that money with nobody. It would be stupid to join a conference.
Been saying that for years and particularly after ND chose not to re-new their series with Penn State after losing 8 out of 12.Big Ten should drop every scheduled game with them for all sports. There isn’t any real incentive to play them anyway. No one cares what fans want and schools are turtling up - it’s all about easy schedules and wins. They say they have to fend for themselves? Let them.
Alabama beat Georgia in the regular season. ND doesn't have any quality wins. They should get in over Alabama but they've been getting breaks they don't deserve for 60 years or more, so no. Schadenfreude
