To be honest a bye would be kinda nice. Plus a couple of less challenging games afterwards. Might be just the ticket for the D play Oregon a little later.
If we didn't play Oregon this week, I feel it wouldn't happen at all. Their bye week is 11/11, and ours is 10/21. I don't see any conference games being moved, so there aren't many other non-drastic options available
Here is a pic of where all the fires are. It doesn't include the new fire that started by someone lighting fireworks off in the gorge this weekend. Cascade Locks is on fire and is moving toward Multnomah Falls.

If the fires go out, the air becomes fine very rapidly. CA got some rain and it pretty well ended those.

Best case scenario is rain. Most likely scenario is strong winds come from the coast to blow it toward Idaho.
Carry on with our day, and just go outside less. I'm still going for my 5 mile run tonight when the temps cool.

And is the air quality so serious right now that it would be dangerous to the players if the game was played in Eugene?
It's more likely for the wind to come from the coast, than it is to rain.
And it's pretty foggy in Eugene, but the chances they play it in Eugene in the smog is much higher than moving it to Seattle or Lincoln, that's for sure.
I thought about them playing in Lincoln bit. I couldn't remember though when lsu and Florida were going to postpone why they didn't ever seem to talk much about switching the home site.

Due to the hazardous air quality in Eugene, Oregon's coaches and players loaded onto three buses and traveled to Florence for Tuesday's practice.
First-year coach Willie Taggart said even the air inside the Moshofsky Center was too smoky for football.
"We don't want any distractions while we're practicing, and smoke is a little distraction," Taggart said. "It can also cause some health issues, so we want to make sure our guys are healthy and we're able to get a good practice in."
Oregon's athletic department, in collaboration with campus leadership, the Pac-12 and regional environmental authorities, will continue to monitor the situation throughout the week.
As of Tuesday the Ducks' game against Nebraska at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Autzen Stadium will be played as scheduled.

Hopefully they get something figured out. I think there's a negative 100% chance it's played in Lincoln. Give or take a few %.
For a team whose offense looked like garbage, you're sure crowing a lot. We dropped 57 points on that 101st ranked Wyoming defense last year, with Tommy Armstrong at the helm. I doubt they have improved that much to be able to hold you to 24 points. Meanwhile our offense put up 43 on the 19th ranked defense from last year last Saturday.
I would say Iowa looked at least as bad on offense as we did on defense. And you haven't gone through wholesale changes on offense like we have on defense. Maybe Jr. isn't all that as a coordinator.

I'm sure by Saturday everything will be much improved.
They are now saying they will make the decision Saturday AM. That doesn't seem fair to the fans traveling accross the country.

With that said, I was clearly joking.
It was raining ash in Seattle today and the air quality is as bad as Oregon. There is an off shore wind that is supposed to start Thursday hopefully most of this stuff blows east by then , however this is very bad all over the PAcific northwest

Agree making the decision in Saturday morning is just crazy. If they postpone it then, what will they do? It would almost certainly be canceled at that point.

I don't see how you can say that. If it is unsafe, it would be irresponsible to play. People aren't even supposed to go outside right now. The Oregon team has moved their practices.
Really, I don't think so the majority of the Nebraska fans will be leaving Portland Sunday morning.
They will be extremely tired from jet lag from flying back from Italy. A Cornhusker win for sure.
Good gravy...it is a little smokey...so is every stadium on game day because of tailgates and flyovers. They will be fine.
