Anyone think we have a legit chance at getting Lavon Hooks?

Yes... He came on a "hush hush" unofficial a few weeks back and hosted us in-home not much before the deadline... All this was kept very quiet and is just now starting to come out.
Seeing how the visit was handled initially tells you the extent to which he was in the bag for OM. The fact that he's having a tough time making up his mind speaks volumes to the job we've done recruiting him -- even if he ultimately ends up being a Rebel.
i admit that i have been out of the loop with MS juco football for a while now. but from his stats, he seems like a beast. I know that there is little to no time left to get him on board. Would love for MSU to get a stud juco DT into the fold and be able to count them towards last year's class being that he is a Dec. grad. getting him on campus early would be tremendous. i think he may end up at Auburn, but i dont know much of anything with this class. I did a lot of reading up on many of them during the early fall, but not since.

Exactly. All seems very strange since he can literally sign his LOI on Wednesday.
OM has long been the overwhelming public favorite here. The way all this is going down has to have them sweating bullets though... while we are playing with house money on this one given that we never really thought we were in it...

Had he kept his decision to announce yesterday as planned, that's exactly what I thought it was as well. A whole bunch of new info has come to light now though that makes the outcome to delay announcement - yet initiate contact with our staff - pretty intriguing.

Hooks told our 24/7 today that he may not decide today.
This is looking better and better. I think we are very much in the game right now and he's really torn. Hoping we can close the deal here because this would be a big time get for us. Says it's still between OM, us, and Washington, but I think we've really got a shot now. If he commits to us after being an OM lock according to everyone, I can't imagine the backlash that will come from the Rebel base. Here's to hoping we can get Hooks.

Therefore, the longer these 'leans' with a previous tie take to commit, the worse for the home team favorite. Alot of times they'll still sign with the favorite, but the chances go down. Chances of Ole Miss signing Nkemdiche and Conner are going down by the day. That said, the chances he'll sign with Ole Miss will still be 50/50, even if it goes down to Signing Day. The fact that he does plan to commit at an All-Star game tell me that it's pretty close to 75% Ole Miss right now.

Someone should try to find out if he has submitted his fa paperwork to msu. He has to washington and ole miss. Might give a little clarity if he hasnt on the msu side.

None of those have him announcing tomorrow, which is what he said he would do Sunday night. Said he'd let the staffs know Monday night and he'd announce it publically Wednesday when he signed.
