i hate this crap. typos are one thing, but it's not that hard to learn the difference between lose & loose. There & their are pretty bad too, but lose & loose are misused so much it's pathetic. Everybody posting should already have or be in the process of getting a college degree. Have some damn pride.Big D said:They are going to have to step it up a notch or two once their SEC play start. If they don't play any better then they did Sunday, Alabama will beat them by 20 point. Not only that, they will loose to South Carolina and LSU. I think Vandy will play their *** off when they line up with Ole Miss. They better be ready.

If Ole Miss was playing VT Saturday night and they were playing VT at the same level they were playing Memphis on Sunday, Ole Miss might be number 18 in the nation and not number 6 today. Also how can you compare Miss State opener to Ole Miss? Ole Miss just came off a 9 win season and they were number 9 in the nation. Miss State just came off a 4 win season and started this one at about number 82. You were the number 8 team in the nation, PLAY LIKE IT and you won't catch hell when you don't.RipleyReb said:think the JSU game is an accurate judge of how State will do this year? I hope not. But why hold OM so accountable for its play against Memphis? A dumbed down game plan with a goal of getting a W and staying healthly. Hopefully, for your sake, Mullen did the same. Had we been playing VT on Sat. night, I'm sure you would've seen a different OM team. But as one has stated....you guys see what you want to see.

The fact of the matter is, if you play all season like you did on Sunday, you will finish with 7 wins and out of the top 25.

You completely missed his point. He's saying that we played conservative due to the opponent, and we would've brought a different game plan with more twists had we had an opponent like Va. Tech. In particular, there were things that were discussed this off-season that did not show up in our offensive game plan against Memphis.
And again, despite Snead having an off day and despite our defense not tackling as well as they could, we still covered the spread.
The point is to win. Alabama last year had multiple weeks where they didn't play like a Top 5 team, but they won every week until the SEC title game and Sugar Bowl. I will go ahead and prepare you. We will bring out a very conservative, vanilla game plan against SELA, and we'll probably play our reserves a lot. We may not beat them by 50 because of it, so just be ready.
go all the way with it. If you wanna judge people on their grammar (which I would not recommend, especially on THIS board), then you can't let the gimme's like "then" and "than" slip by. Your grammar-trolling = fail.markymark said:i hate this crap. typos are one thing, but it's not that hard to learn the difference between lose & loose.
It does not matter what your game plan was, it does not matter who you were playing, you were the number 8 team in the nation and if you would have played like the number 8 team in the nation this thread would not have turn into this direction. Your number 8 team in the nation played like crap and if you had been playing VT you would have gotten the crap kicked out of you. If you play Alabama, LSU or even South Carolina and Vandy the way you played Memphis you are going to lose 4 games.

RipleyReb said:you're so eager to tear down OM that you can't think logically. Bruiser's right, you missed my point. In no way was I comparing State to OM. My point was basically, that from a gameplan and emotional standpoint, OM was not at it's best. Memphis just doesn't do that for our guys. I was also saying I hope State didn't show all their cards against JSU. However, on the other hand, had we been playing a team such as VT, you would have seen a totally different offensive gameplan and more fire in the belly on the emotional side. If we could play with the emotional energy every week that we had against FL, LSU, and Texas Tech last year, it would be easy.
is beyond absurd. You guys did not look any different then you did in 2007.
