If Temple completes the run all the way to the Peach or Fiesta bowl and returns a 4 year starting QB next year it is not going to get any easier. However, that is not the point, the very fact we are arguing about Temple recruiting is the problem. This should not even be an issue, Temple should be a long distance away from us looking back in our rear view mirror. Why is this even an issue, because we have fallen and they have an administration that is all in on football. Heck, they are even trying to build a 35k on campus stadium. Imagine if we had that type of administration, we would be right up there with the conference power houses.

But that's the exact point i'm making. Looking at Temple's commitment list (2016) there are no kids committed who have an RU offer, Temple is squarely in our re view mirror.

I'm all in on canning Flood after this year.

But if we beat Nebraska, then win out, including the bowl game? That would be a lot of fun. Any "RU Fan" still belly aching at that point.......
If all that happens, he's definitely not getting canned, and people would belly ache even more.

We have too many idiotic, amateur fans that keep supporting Flood because they have no idea how a college football program should be built. Flood has set us far behind our supposed peers in recruiting, player development and coaching. These fans get excited every time we get a recruit.. Every single one.. just because they choose Rutgers. Note to fans: a recruit that picks Rutgers can actually be a bad football player. In fact, many of them have been lately.

Flood has cheapened RUs reputation immensely, yet some of our fans are too provincial and short sighted to even see that. It's sad.

So this article is some new revelation? Yearly most of the top NJ HS athelets are never a Rutgers lean. Anything under a .500 year at Rutgers is a disaster for recruiting NJ blue chip players, and Flood cannot recruit NJ with his winning seasons. The top programs that recruit NJ know this and will continue to pile on the scoreboard. The wall Schiano started erecting around NJ has crumbed.

And I'm not worried about temple lol

Really, would you want to go to school in Philly ? City is a dump. Temple may get some 2's and even a few 3's but the 4's and 5's want a school with a tradition of excellence, not just one and a nice campus to rule.

We've done okay of late

Pretty much our entire 2013 class besides Turay, Miller, Cioffi and Grant. The rest have been below average and have either yet to even see the field consistently or have contributed to us being consistently blown out. Obviously, Flood's poor player development has also contributed to this.

Yeah, TU is in Rutgers' mirror... as Rutgers drives off a cliff.

As usual, you guys are completely lost!

Remember that time when Game Day came to Rutgers? The Birthplace of College Football? The media darling of the Big Ten? The college football team of New York City? Yeah that was awesome.

TU is having a good year, but don't get any idea you're building some sort of dynasty.

Most of your team consists of juniors and seniors, and you'll be losing a lot at the end of this season, (maybe even your coach, maybe not, but don't be surprised if it happens), so enjoy things while you can.

And yes, RU may drive off a cliff, but when we hit the ground we'll still be in the B1G with, if nothing else, the prospect of all that money coming in when we're eligible for a full league share. -And those in the AAC? Well, ahh, you're more than welcome to that league.

LOL @ Temple. They are having a good year and still no one cares about them and are planning on taking their coach as if they don't even exist.

Sorry-anyone looking to go to the AAC or below is not interested in competing against top quality opponents and I don't want them. Don't tell me because of Houston or Memphis or Temple are having a good year its top quality. Those three teams (besides Memphis' win over Ole Miss who was a mess that day) could come in and take over the B1G. Those teams are level with Purdue and Illinois. Not top tier. And all three will lose their coach in the next year. THen will have to start over again.

So you're saying you'd get blasted by Purdue and Illinois? Because you certainly would by Temple, Memphis, Houston, Navy, Cincy, and maybe even USF and ECU. Rutgers would finish around 7-8 in the AAC this year

Take away PSU and Notre Dame fans and Temple will draw 40k combined for all their home games. It's just silly that the 4 fans they have are on the board now. It's almost as bad as that Seton Hall fan on here, as if that's something to be proud of.

Lol, you're one of 5 fans who actually goes to the games. It's cute that you're getting so worked up over RU, but nobody cares. Go worry about UConn or South Florida or whoever you're playing this weekend.

Nationally, the game accumulated a 3.9 overnight rating. It was the highest-rated college football game broadcast in Week 9, showing a 26 percent increase in viewership from Ohio State at Penn State, the Week 9 matchup featured on ABC's Saturday Night Football last season.

Locally, the matchup registered an 18.1 overnight rating, giving it the record of highest-rated regular season college football game ever aired on ABC.

Cool, I'm sure that had nothing to do with it being a Notre Dame game in prime time on national TV. But enjoy your moral victory and get ready for UConn.

I'd rather get my tail whooped in the Power 5 than play on a winner in the Group of 4

LMAO.

On behalf of Temple. Penn State, Syracuse, Pitt and UConn fans everywhere, let me just say that we'd all rather watch you get your *** whooped as a P5 school too. The off and on-field embarrassments have provided endless entertainment.

As a Rutgers fan you get to remedy that dumpster fire football program with...Rutgers basketball LMFAO

Yeah, because Notre Dame has never played on ABC in primetime.

Against a team in the area recently? Not sure, but I didn't think so. I mean, it's nice that you're very excited over this season, but nobody cares. Temple plays in front of 20k against UConn and SMU. I'm pretty sure the team was bowl eligible last year and didn't even get an invite. It is what it is. Enjoy the season.

Yes, that powerhouse Temple basketball program that has been super relevant since Chaney left. Honestly, there's Villanova basketball and everyone else in Philly, and nobody cares about that until the Eagles season is over. But cool, have fun with that.

If Notre Dame fans are the reason for the TV ratings then what does it matter who they play?

Last I checked your great football program played Rutgers twice in recent times and lost both games. If Rutgers is a dumpster fire, then Temple is the crap at the bottom of the dumpster. Enjoy your 1 season and when your coach leaves for better opportunities, and your seniors graduate, come back and chat.

You're 3-6 with wins over Norfolk State, Kansas, and Indiana LOL. Not to mention multiple arrests and that joke of a situation with your coach...dumpster fire. You couldn't even beat an average Penn State team

RU fans- no position to talk smack right now.

TU fans- check in again in 2-3 years and we'll see where you're at.

It's amazing how people lose perspective and forget their own histories when declaring the fate of others. TU fans, 9 years ago we were having a similar ride (against better competition) and you were absolute and complete garbage (our current 'dumpster fire' squad would have beaten 2006 Temple by 40+) and just about left for dead, while many RU fans had claimed we 'arrived' and will be nothing but awesome from here on out. Nothing is static and there's an ebb and flow to the sport. You guys seem to think you're immune to it because you're caught up in the heat of the moment. Enjoy it- you deserve to. However, I think you'll find out the hard way in a few years that it doesn't always last and you don't reverse decades of ineptitude in a matter of a few seasons.

So dumb it's actually painful to read.

Help me out a little what am I missing in the post. I have no problem with Temple, I'm very happy for them and wanted them to beat ND. It's good to see that they are making head way in Football as they did in Basketball, but, with respect to the op in the original column sited, Temple is not an issue with respect to RU and recruiting as evidenced by their 2016 class.
