Goodness, you finished below us in the SEC 9 out of 10 years this decade but you managed 4 wins in your biggest game?

Didn't you read the comments from all your players...that beating OM was bigger than going to a bowl? And you wonder why you've won 45 games this decade?

well what did you expect them to say considering we had no chance of going to a bowl. Plus it's a rivalry game - OM beating MSU or MSU beating OM is bigger than winning something like the Indy Bowl though - let's just be honest. I at least would consider the Egg Bowl the bigger win.

But this nonsense that we only play hard against OM is just delusional. OM had a ton to play for as well considering the bowl implications. So if you take that statement does that mean when MSU plays hard they're better than when OM plays hard? Or are they saying they didn't play hard?

Just a stupid statement and I'm tired of hearing it from OM fans as well. Regardless anyone who watched MSU knows that they played hard pretty much every game this year and had a chance to win almost every game (save Auburn) in the 4th Q

...I get you it: You feel you have to defend the superior honor of your rebel football heritage after suffering an extremely humiliating loss to a bunch of Sly Croom recruits. Having said that, it's time to back off.

The Univeristy of Mississippi's 2009 football season was, but every standard imaginable, a huge flop. You need to walk away for a period & deal with that.

The more you troll this board with your rah rah nonsense, the bigger an idiot you appear.

the reason why you have that one season out of 10 to begin with.

MSU will beat OM, history says about 4 out of every 10 times. I don't expect that to change, particularly in Starkville. Even still, that performance in this game will always outperform you season and relative success, because of the mentality expressed by Dixon and others in the CL today ("we'd rather beat OM than go to a bowl, etc).

That's a mentality only embodied by the Tulane's and UAB's of the world, and is pretty pathetic. I don't see that changing in your program or in your fanbase. Hell, it looks like your new coach is only feeding into it.

you'd rather win the Egg Bowl than go and win even a minor bowl? Do you even understand what you are saying and why OM fans make fun of this mentality?

You'd have to be at 4 wins at best to go into the Egg Bowl in that situation, where you can win it and still not go bowling. Compared to being a 7 or 8 win team after winning a minor bowl game.

Only the Tulane's, UAB's, UCF's and MSU's of the world would trade an 8 win season for a 4 win season if it meant getting an upset over big brother.

Just, wow.

you're barking up the wrong tree, squirt. nobody's buying your pile of **** excuses, not even yourself. well, i mean, whatever gets you through the night. i see that what MSU fans think is VERY important to your self esteem, so OK, I'll play. History is on your side and even though it doesn't mean anything, we did beat your *** mercilessly yesterday. You'll probably have a countdown clock, but too arrogant to tell anyone, which makes your school that much more pathetic. congrats you're our ***** for a year.

... Than beat you !+$%%@# clowns. It is just funny to watch Ole Miss fans act like they are some upper tier program only to go out and get your asses whipped. Why shouldn't our players enjoy that? It's funny, living in Memphis I have learned that every single fan base around here despises Ole Miss and it isn't because you have a good program. It is because you are average at best, but talk and act like you are something special and people just love beating to racist delusional pricks

How about next year we just whip your *** AND go to a bowl game? I'm cool with that. Then you'll have these quotes to chew on..."It's so sweet to beat them in Oxford and to propel us into the _____ Bowl" You guys cannot come to grips with how shittastic your season turned out to be. Yes, it was better than ours. But at least we're realistic.

I don't go on Ole Miss boards and spew nonsense. Why do they feel the need to come here and do it? There are a few rational Reb fans who post on here, but these idiots make you all look the same.

They were happy to use it on LSU fans. Let's see how irritated they get when it's back at 'em. Next year, I hope we're up 63-0 and decide to take 3 knees and punt and then get the ball back and take 3 more knees and punt and then do it again. ********.

So apparently you don't know Jamar Chaney or he is not a State fan? He even thinks the game means more to your fans and coaches than a bowl game.

"I'm pretty sure we'd rather have this game than a bowl game, to win this game. It means so much to our players, our coaches and our fans." - Jamar Chaney

A player on a team staying home overstating the importance of the final game of the season. I am sure that has never happened before.

do you even care what the 17 we think in the first place? Why? Why in the hell do you care? The way you guys spin **** is absolutley amazing sometimes. Why are you here? Why, why, why?

It's like you guys lose sleep over what we are thinking and doing - and I truly believe y'all do. Leave. Please, and don't worry about us and what we worry about. Although that is apparently impossible for your ilk.

Pot, meet the damn kettle.

Yes we would rather be bowling but it is rather sweet to beat a team who thought they had a Heisman contender QB and a first class ticket to a BCS bowl. South Carolina sent $+%+ into their tailspin and we shot them out of the air. Also Marcus Tillman was paid a handsome amount of money to switch his committment from LSU to $+%+. His family went from not being able to pay light bills to having money to spare.

....I would hope they would treat this last game like a bowl game. For them it was the biggest game of the season because it was their last. The fact that Tillman thinks Sate only plays hard one game out of the year shows he is either a sore loser, or on the same intellect level as Powe

All I know is you ignorant ******* s were already planning a vacation to "sunny Orlando" and we came in and knocked you down a few notches. forgive State fans and players for being excited about screwing up your holiday plans and kicking your *** in the process

You know this is a distortion of the facts.I believe if you look into the more recent history, i.e. since the series has moved back to campus, the numbers are more like 1 out of every 2 times. Matter of fact, I believe if you were to remove the Vaught years that you dominated and built the history that your fans cling to, the series is almost exactly even. This mightier than thought attitude is exactly what State fans despise about you and your school.

The ONLY reason we went to bowl game that year is because our Defense was able to bail our crapy offense out. With out Pegues and other secondary able to create turnovers we don't go bowling. Croom's offense was constantly one of the worst in D-I. Don't give Croom credit give it to Ellis Johnson.

Congrats, WhitHughes. It was a complete *** kicking on State's part and we're not pleased with it. Ole Miss was completely dominated. Turns out it's not going to make a huge difference in the season as the Cap One, Outback and Cotton are all fairly interchangeable. Could you imagine the venom after this game if OM was indeed 10-1 or 11-0 and had a BCS trip on the line? I think that's one of the primary reasons you see a lot of OM fans downplaying it - the season was already decided. The game still hurts, but the outcome didn't change the bowl picture too much.

As far as your quote:

"it is rather sweet to beat a team who thought they had a Heisman contender QB" -- Ah, yes. That damn Graham Harrell was so stuck up and felt he got snubbed by not being invited to the Heisman ceremony...it felt good to beat him.

"and a first class ticket to a BCS bowl" -- It does feel good. It was Texas Tech's dream season last year and they thought they were a shoo-in for the BCS title game or a BCS bowl in the least. It was fun kicking their tail in the Cotton Bowl and bringing them back down to earth.

You know what was strange though? The outcome of the game didn't seem to affect the Red Raiders that much no matter how much we wanted it to. We wanted the victory to justify our arrival as a program but their fans were already disappointed in their season since before they played us, their dreams were already shattered.

Why the hell are you even here? If you Rebs don't care about us cow crackin' MSU fans, WHY THE 17 are you and your buddies wasting your time on MSU message boards? I would bet every damn thing I own that you have some things to do, but you aren't doing them because you just "gotta troll sixpack and counter-point all of them lil' ol' crappy State fans. Gotta put them in their place." I seriously believe you, and many other UM fans, tossed and turned last night with thoughts of MSU fans jack jawing about UM on message boards throughout the interwebs dancing in your head. How dare they! Correct?

You guys are bona-fide morons if y'all can't see the irony in your behavior.
