Really hope the fans come.
Attendance has really been down in my opinion. Lose one game and some folks quit coming.
This team has me concerned. Just don't know what to expect. They don't have a great record but can't gauge any wins or loses.
If we play our ball like against WC we will be tough to beat.

So long as we bring the A team colonial has nothing to hurt us. But if we play like we did at gretna it's going to be a long night. We really miss not having a certain person on the Raider facebook page that i credit for doing alot to keep everyone involved with so many people coming to games. But hey i have traveled to all games and we have always brought the loud and proud PO1 crew. I'll be at colonial friday night for sure.
Appo fans your team will be just fine. Colonial Heights may stay close for a bit, but you will wear them down and should beat them handily. Be safe in your travels. There new coach has instilled confidence in his team, but they still lack talent and depth. They have taken a beating in district play.
Thank you Old Fool, I was an admin on the FB pages and still mess with it at times, but the problem is we need a solid parent step up and help out. Many are computer illiterate and dont know how to be a great admin. Not knocking them, they just not PC savvy. Coach Smith did a lot for my son and I told him I would help out as much as possible.
I knew that was going to happen, the TRUE PO1 crew are still alive and strong. I told my wife, watch when heritage beats Appo, attendance gonna drop. I think what hurts attendance is the LIVE stream from one of the admins on the page. People are like I will watch it at home instead of traveling. I know that it is beneficial for those that are alumni of Appo, but hurts attendance when the ones that live in Appo would rather stay home and watch stream.
What? U lose one game and attendance has feel off. That's sad. What will it be when the team falls off and loses several games?
No doubt that will happen next year. The talent is just not there for us to sustain great seasons we have seen in past. I say we we will have 2 down years but we will still be competitive and make a few playoff runs. No doubt that the PO1 crew will die with it. Appomattox has always had a decent crowd but not like we have seen in past 3 years. I applaud Giles and some of the SWVA teams that keep fans coming when they lose games during the season. Yall really love football and I salute that.
I hear ya BN, but this is the kind of game ole Buzz can spring the surprise. Nothing in the records of either team suggest this, but stranger things have happened. And boy, could CH ever use the morale boost.
Hate to see that. Your not going to be great every year and not fair to the kids. Hopefully it won't be as bad as u guys think.
There will probably be a Freshman QB next year if Im hearing correctly. There is a 8th Grader that is like a Thornhill from Altavista and a Joe Reed from Randolph Henry. This kid is the real deal. You will be hearing about Appo in upcoming years. His name.....mark it down...Tre Lawing....I will search for this thread in upcoming years.

It's a step along the road to this teams goal.
New school, fresh look, the Raiders will be ready to defend they're run into playoffs.

I would say the Raiders are expected to win but,....
I think they are looking at this as a chance to prove themselves to a new school and a new fan base.
They want to walk out of there with the opponents respect.
At this point in time with points being so close all games are big. With CH being 3a they carry much needed points for Appo to remain on top of the points. A win is a win be it by 1 point or a 100 points in a game so yes a win is big for Appo. However, we will travel and give ch a great game and we will be respectful and earn the respect of ch. Do fully expect a large PO1 crew to be there giving our boys the feel of a home game!
Power Of One !! one team, one man, one god.
Two years ago our community was struck with several tragedies where young lives were lost. The town was just in shock of these and kinda wondering,"what was next". That year Coach Smith had instilled PO1 as our teams mantra. Well as our little football team kept winning that "PO1" became the rallying cry for this community. The boys kept winning and this town rode their sensational season to carry broken and heavy hearts back into a positive light.
15-0 State Champs (42-6 in the championship game)
Then last year right into playoffs a senior in the high school died. The boys played with heavy hearts that Saturday afternoon and handed a very good team their first shut out of the schools history with a 43-0 win.
15-0 2X State Champs (42-7 in the championship game) PO1 BELIEVE was our mantra.
30-0 over those two seasons.
We lost 21 seniors from this small school last year but the boys are working to rebuild their lines and trying to reach their goal once again.
7-1 right now with our lone lose to 3A Heritage.

I love the P01 Mantra! Sorry guys but Im partial to the ORIGINAL PO1 team though. I think ones that know me understand that...lol...Im so glad it didnt die out after the 2015 season.
DANG IT OLDFOOL. you had me in tears with that last video! I so enjoyed watching that team help the community heal. Seeing my son and his best friend in that vid had tears falling down my face. Miss them boys and im glad most of them are doing well nowadays.
