Arceto Clark's push ups

I haven't seen this mentioned on here. With 8:30 left in the fourth quarter, Arceto Clark lined up wide left. The ball was snapped, the play swung to the right, and instead of running a route, Clark dropped to the turf and started doing push ups until after the play was over. He then got up and ran to the sidelines. One of the coaches ran out and chest bumped him as he left the field (I couldn't see which coach, but he was apparently in on it).

I'm guessing that Clark knew it was his last play at Scott Field and wanted to do something funny since the play wasn't coming his way. I'm sort of surprised he didn't draw a flag for it, but it was damned funny to see. The TV coverage cut to him as he was getting up, but no one ever mentioned what he had done.

not bring up unpleasantry, but wasn't Arceto referred to as "secret weapon" in one game by Crooms.

Was it the MTSU game in '08? Or Vanderbilt? Either way, it was late October and his redshirt was Croomed.

Yes. That was him. And he went on to have a fairly productive career for us despite being coached by Croom for a year.

This was the highlight of the day for me. That was one of the more hilarious things I've seen on Scott Field

yes, he's been servicable...too bad Crooms burned his shirt for one or two games that year.

Yeah, I noticed that he, Bumphis, and T Smith came off the field after that play, and we're greeted on the sidelines. Kinda like subbing for the seniors in basketball, but apparently with less fanfare.

Crxxms did a lot of dumb stuff, but burning his redshirt for a few games, limited snaps, and no justification was by far the dumbest.

Since Arceto was suspended for the 09 season, it wouldn't have mattered. He would have been a redshirt sophomore in 2010 anyway. Not to say it wasn't dumb of Croom...but it turned out not to make any difference.
