Maybe but it’s like his first start on the road at Ohio State.
He is 11-18, 58 yards, 2 ints. That’s pretty bad even if he is playing OSU.
If anyone has followed this is not a surprise. Ohio state is elite on both sides of the ball. Arch is still a very young g player he hasn't had much real competition game experience. All the pedigree and training in the world can't replace that. Gonna take a half season as full starter to see what he can really do. All these people saying he was a first round draft guy this year were idiots.
He was Annointed, while still in HS.
Arch is one of the most overrated QB’s of all time. If his name was Arch Jones, he definitely wouldn’t be at Texas. He couldn’t beat out Ewers, who was a late round draft pick, for two seasons.
And there wasn't a college football publication or writer in the country that didn't have him rated as one of the top five QB's going into this season. Not saying he won't be great at some point but going into this season he was over rated.

While playing nobody unfortunately. His competition while at Newman wasn't elite. Cooper should have put him in a school where he could actually play against some kids that were d1 level on line or dbs that were gonna be big time.
Exactly. He had 3 star talent in high school. He still plays like a 3 star. Media darling.
kid may be overrated, but I have a hard time judging him based on this level game / opening game challenge......that said, I really wish the sports world et.al. would allow the kid to prove himself a little bit before coronating him to be the next coming of........
It matters a pretty good bit. Texas’ SEC schedule is soft as hell. Trip to UGA and basically nothing else. They have a lot of pressure to run the table outside of the trip to Athens in order to get a CFP bid.
Agree. I think he's gonna be fine. He's basically a freshman starting for the first time.....AND against the defending National Champions at their place. Wait until he plays in Starkville. Then you'll see Heisman+ like numbers.
He would be an average Joe if he didn't have that last name. Either way I'm glad they lost. 17 Texas, 17 "Arch" and 17 Matthew McConaughey.
