Are helmets like these too much to ask for?

Get rid of the white/gray stripes on the top and it looks great. I don't care what logo we put on the helmet, I just want them to be a solid color everywhere except the logo. White or maroon facemask, it matters not. Just no stripe on the helmet.

Totally agree, and hope Stricklin does also.

I actually like the stripe as long as it has the gray on each side like this one does. Especially with our new gray pants.

If there's no gray outline (triple stripe) though, I would rather it just be solid like you said. That one wide *** white stripe looks as bad as the shoulder stripe to me.

Ok, maybe not as bad as the shoulder stripe, but bad nonetheless

Love the player wearing the the helmet. James Williams was a badass. One of my favorites that gets forgotten.

i hate the thick white bookmark we now have, but i always liked the 3 stripe. looks sharp to me. apparently, the simplest things to correct are sometimes the hardest.

The heck with just the helmets, let's go back to those uniforms. Best MSU has ever worn.

That's probably true-It was Rocky Felker's first year as coach. Team started out great and then faded at the end, kinda' like we did last year.

Also, I kinda miss the "bare-bones" days of football. Look at that pic again. His belt isn't perfectly aligned to show off a brand or alternate logo of the school. He's decked out in tape and....that's about it. Even his jersey was too much of a hindrance to him to "display" properly. I know, I know. Times have changed. But in a way I miss those days of bloody noses, ripped jerseys, bloody and bent fingers taped together so you could get back out there, etc. And, no I am not as old as I sound/read. Maybe this should have been posted in the numerous threads of "less pads equals more safety in the game."

Bovine scatology. James showed up to MSU with the clothes on his back and a small duffle bag, bad *** indeed.

Those were good. But every coach/AD wants something different when they come to MSU. Probably won't happen.
