Are you kidding me Pat Flaherty?

Like many, I've been watching this team for decades. Watching as coaches come and go, all bringing the promise of better units...some successful to a certain degree, some not. But OL? I had given up. I thought the only way to get to a good OL was recruiting four star kids. That the pool of competitive big kids with the quickness and make up was only so big and we were resigned to watching our QB run for his life, our RB's getting stacked up at the lime of scrimmage, hoping they could fall forward for three yards, when playing really good teams.

Now all of a sudden, we are running against an entire unit of NFL caliber Ohio State kids. Our QB has time to throw against a top five defense in the country.

Obviously the kids have worked really hard. But how good is this guy, Pat Flaherty? I never thought I'd see this, didn't think it was possible.

Pierce had an outstanding 4 eye up the to the LB. It was absolutely awesome and spring a big run. Our OL is playing physical and know what they are doing. At time we are still out matched, but our scheme and coaching seems to be really helping the OL and they are gaining confidence.

I remember the Pierce play
TBH I haven't seen an RU OL dominate as a unit since 2006 - and the current tackles are huger lol
Rice would love playing peek-a-boo behind these monsters

Guy is a keeper. Pay the man and Leverage the Sean Ohara connection..... 2 Super Bowls as O-Line coach with the Giants.

The job this man has done is nothing short of transformational! Its hard to fathom that these are virtually the same players that were there last yr + Reggie

Should be in the running for national assistant coach of the year. Any OL recruit looking to improve his chances of being drafted should look at what's going on at Rutgers.

Hopefully by next season you'll see him on the 2 deep at one or both of the tackle positions. He had a long road back, but definitely making progress.

Best post ever @chase07470 .. well done.

We need Coach Flaherty to train his replacement. We have any former OL who might be into position coaching? Someone with a strong work ethic who can get along with Greg. Maybe an over-achiever. What is Jeremy Zutah up to these days? He played many positions.. smart as heck.. NFL "stain"... Flaherty needs to train up his replacement before he leaves us to retirement or whatever.

Coach Flaherty should be a Broyles Award candidate.

I’m worried like some other Rutgers fans that Joe Harasymiak will be offered a HC or a team like USC will offer him several million as their DC.

USC is a possibility , especially with Joe's knowledge of B1G programs and the Trojans playing in the Big Ten next year..
HC is also a real possibility , seeing how his Maine program went 10-4 his last year ( 2018) there as the HC , making it to the FCS semifinals. before taking the Minnesota Gophers as the team's safeties coach

The playcalling/scheme/choreo whatever you want to call it on our OL this year has been elite. NFL-like. Almost perfect even. Credit to coach for 1) coming up with these designs, 2) teaching the players in an effective way how to carry out the designs, and 3) the players for putting in the work, practicinh, reviewing film etc whatever they have to do, and executing it

That’s why the Jints OL was so good and produced several Super Bowls. Flat’s was a great hire along with Harasymiak, Ciarrocca and the others. Very good staff . Young and old good mix.

I think coach Flats is here for awhile or until he says “ that’s it.” Like others have brought up Joe Harasymiak is gonna get offers.

If coach Flaherty returns next year look out for a really dominant Oline. Plus having a successful former NFL Oline coach, on staff, should help with recruiting.

Agree 100%. Our wrs are making catches like I’ve rarely seen before too. We got professional coaching

Alex Grinch was fired from USC today.

Jim Leonhard, Joe Rossi, D’Anton Lynn, Tony Gibson, Tim Deruyter and Joe Harasymiak were some of the names mentioned by Bruce Feldman.

Another Big Ten option to watch is Rutgers defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak. The Scarlet Knights are much improved this season and rank No. 10 in the nation in total defense and No. 2 in fewest plays of 20 yards or more allowed (behind Iowa). In 2022, Rutgers had its best statistical season in a decade. The 37-year-old had also done an outstanding job as a head coach at Maine prior to taking an assistant job at Minnesota under Rossi.

Coach Sanders might want him at Colorado to try and clean up the OL mess there now.
If that doesn't work out , Flaherty could join this years prime scapegoats ( OC & TE coach) to take the blame for the Buffs' HC not being a very good game day coach, but knows how to hype himself as one.
Pat will be able to take the money, but is that worth being made the scapegoat by a loser that some claimed was a coaching genius and one that cares more about himself ten the program he runs
Deion can bring in the boosters for donations, get playters NIL deals but if he doesn't start winning he'll run out of assistants to blame and the players will see him as more hype tan substance when it comes to being a winning HC.

Greg might not be flashey , but he isn't a flash in the pan when it comes to building a winning program
