Spiking the ball is the dumbest thing they could have done. But I think the clock expires before they can snap it no matter what the play call is FG or not. They should have at least tried the FG or at the very least throw the ball in the endzone.
Agree with the announcers - wasting all that time before calling timeout after 3rd down was pretty stupid too.
Man, mad hatter really blew this game. Starting with 1st & 10 at the Ole Miss 30 and continuing to call deep route pass plays resulting in sacks. Then clock mismanagement with the timeouts. Then spiking the ball on the last play. Just damn. Croom could have done better in that sequence.

If they were set and ready, they could have snapped the ball and run a play. Regardless, that stupid sack of **** wasted nearly 20 seconds on that drive, and the play calling was an abomination. He just made Croom look like Vince F'ing Lombardi.
