I am seeing this repeatedly and unironically posted by Bama fan Facebook friends--none of whom are actual Bama grads. Yeah, tough times for you guys, rooting for repeat national champions of your own free will and volition.

Jeez.. Read the comments. One woman was going to pray for her friend because they are not Al fans. Un freakin real. They have some real deranged people following that school.

All I can think about while "reading" that is a Sheryl Crow song, and that is not a good connection to make.

Are you strong enough..... to be our fan?

Like its so effin' hard? Be sad like 1-2x a football season, tops. Maybe. Before your ******** fans whine about the Sugar Bowl you're disappointed to be in.

Favorite part was how anyone can be a fan to a team that barely gets into a bowl...

Are any of them strong enough to be a State fan?

Seriously.

Sub-0.500 winning record
Zero National Championships*
Just one SEC Championship
Never been to the Sugar Bowl (thanks, Germans)
Sylvester 17ing Crooms
The freaking wind bowl, for goodness sake

Find one damn reason why anyone who didn't attend our fine institution and ring those bells (and their families too) would choose to become a Mississippi State fan? Or even those of us who did attend State decide to still pull for our hapless Maroons? What reason?

Only one reason: Love. And that's one thing it takes a truly strong person to do. To love. Unconditionally. If you're man enough to love a team and stick with it through the brief highs and the long, drawn-out lows, then you can be a State fan. If not, well, I'd stick to Bama.

(Okay, that got a bit cheesy and too much like a sappy sports movie, so flame away)

*A few consider 1941, and even fewer 1940, to be State's national championship
