Despite Skaterbro running over us most of the night, that game was a lot closer than most remember. Hell, despite getting dragged in the first half, we only lost by 7. We were one questionable turnover by Shapen early and a failed defensive stop late from winning the game.

The other turnover hurt as well. The fumble for six and pick six did us in.

I‘m actually really high on Dillingham and think ASU will be doing well to hang onto him, even if he is an alum. Yeah they lost Skattebo but they replaced him with an 1,000 yard rusher from Army. Also, we saw their QB on his worst day last year, he went on to have a very nice season and was only a freshman last year. 24-6 TD to INT ratio and threw for just under 3,000 yards. They lost two regular season games last year and one of them was on the road in a game where Leavitt didn’t play due to injury.

Is it totally impossible that we can upset them? No I don’t think so. But we will absolutely be the underdog. They won the Big 12 and probably should’ve beaten Texas in the Playoff, and didn’t lose much other than their RB who they seem to have replaced reasonably well.

Does West Point pay players, beyond the normal cadet stipend? If not, I suppose it's understandable why he'd leave the Academy but not really dedicated to a military career.

he won’t get fired for losing to Arizona State. Massive games for him are southern miss & northern Illinois. Lose one of those & he’s toast.
I don’t think he is losing any of the other three non-cons. Beat Arizona State and we could have a respectable season.

I don’t consider 0-8 in the sec respectable. I can’t come up with an sec win but it’s possible someone has a rash of injuries

This game is massive for Lebby.
What? No one expects us to win this game. We'll be 8-10 point dogs.

If we beat Arizona State, I bet we pick up an SEC win or 2 as well (we’re not beating Arizona State though).
I know what you are saying Pat but look at the sec schedule and tell me which one you see. The knee jerk response by the fan base is Arkansas but they are going to be better than last year and in fact I pick them to be a surprise team.

Missouri and Ole Miss are the two best chances imo

I’m not saying we beat Arizona State and no one else. If we beat Arizona State, we will be 4-0. At that point I think we pick up one or two more wins in SEC play. Lose to Arizona State and 3-9 is likely.

Oh, we’re not winning an SEC game either. But ASU is a tougher game than any of the 3 you mention. If we win that (we won’t) we’re a better team than you or I think we are.

I’m not saying it’s a game he has to win or he’s in trouble. It’s called an opportunity: a CFP team from last year in your stadium. A win or loss wouldn’t surprise me. A win would provide a lot of momentum.

ASU-UM might come down to where the game is played. They’d beat Arkansas easily.
I think u r paying attention to rankings. Arkansas O line taylen green Petrino would give them major problems. Arkansas offense should be explosive this year.

if u think asu would easily beat Arkansas then we should destroy Arkansas. I highly doubt that

ASU returns almost their entire 2-deep of defense. They’ll be better this year than they were last year. I do agree with you about Arkansas. They will be better. We’re not beating them either.

To those saying we can’t beat Arizona State:

They beat us by seven in Tempe last season.

They were a surprise CFP team last year. It’s possible they take a step back.

We were 2-10 last year. It’s possible we are better.

State beating Arizona State in Starkville is on the menu. It’s not guaranteed, but it is definitely one of the possible outcomes.

Yea I’ve seen that im
Not that high on them I think
They will miss skatabo they are 20-25 imo. I think they would struggle in the sec. Arkie would give them a lot of problems. Compare the scores last year. We played them fairly close. Arkansas blew us off the field

ASU had a 30-3 lead on us before some garbage time scores. That game was nowhere near as close as the final score.
