No rest after NDI, we have two duals on the road this weekend. Kaleb Larkin is looking like a title contender at 149 after majoring Lachlan McNeil 12-3. His younger brother Kyler looks great at 133 as well but hasn't had a ranked opponent yet so hasn't cracked Flo's rankings. Intermat has him 29th. Manville is also undefeated to start the year. Heavyweight David Szuba is 23rd on Intermat. Ranked matches below from Flo

Oklahoma State at Arizona State, 2:00 PM
  • 141: #2 Sergio Vega vs #31 Pierson Manville
  • 149: #10 Casey Swiderski vs #2 Kaleb Larkin
  • 157: #2 Landon Robideau vs #24 Chance McLane
  • 165: #2 LaDarion Lockett vs #17 Nicco Ruiz
  • 197: #9 Cody Merrill vs #28 Colton Hawks

Manville is a stud and has been missing. Can he stop the Vega momentum?

My guess is he has some rust and Vega got 9 inches taller.

Larkin will be problems for Casey. He's gonna be problems for everyone at 149 he's huge for the weight

Kaleb looked great last weekend, I think he's a title contender if the cut isn't too much for him.

I don't know if he can stop to be honest. Seems like Tyler had to calm him down and walk him back to the tunnel after every match last weekend.

I hope he can. He just needs to learn how to channel that energy. I wonder if they sit him against Larkin Sunday that one won't be good for his confidence. Maybe we see Cutter or they bump up Burton.

Wouldn't surprise me if they say him either, he needs to get his mojo back and Larkin isn't the guy to get it from lol.

Did anyone else see Terry Brands follow him and Tyler off the mat screaming at Casey? He said a lot, but one thing I definitely heard was "You're the same guy you were in Ames, Iowa." It could have been an ugly scene. I was glad Tyler was there to get him to the locker room quick.

My guess is they heard Casey talking to Block during the match and the things he was saying. And over the course of the weekend behind the scenes things happen that we don't see. Casey has a I will fight everyone mentality which can be good if that energy is used properly.

Where’s that energy in his matches though? I don’t know his previous history but he wrestles timid. Pretty caged up. Maybe he has more skills than Cutter but Cutter goes hard when he’s out there.

He typically wrestles with that attitude. My guess is it's a confidence thing now he hasn't lost 4 of 5 ever

Corby what was he saying to Block during the match? Talking **** to him? If so, who does he think he is? He's lost 4 matches already. He's a first year transfer to OSU. A former #1 overall recruit- who's a one-time 7th place finisher?

Do we have to like this guy? When can Travis wrestle at 149??? Or Jamison??

He's a known talker during matches not sure if it gets him amped up or if he thinks it's intimidating the other guy. He did it while at Iowa St as well. Is a clip I believe on Flo of Block talking about it after the match

Understood. I don't like this crap. And if you're gonna do it, you better back it up. His loss, to an unranked wrestler, who he was talking **** to, likely cost us the dual. Against our arch-rival. Plus three other losses already. No thank you. Give me our true Cowboys - Tagen and Teague.

Am I an ahole for feeling this way? I mean none of us liked this guy when he was at Iowa State, right?

I love your contribution to discussion. But come on.

It’s not going his way, and it’s not going our way. But he’s a Cowboy and that’s that.

If he doesn’t figure it out, he doesn’t. I bet he does…but smashing him on a keyboard doesn’t help.

I haven't seen it in any of his matches this year even All Star. Cagey, timid, slow. Maybe y'all seeing something I'm not. Hope the best for the guy.

Casey will be fine. I like his style and attitude. He's a throwback.

It's not mat rust he was fine at the all star match and hasn't been hurt. It's in his head he lost and couldn't shake it which lead to more losses. If the matches weren't over a 2 day period he doesn't go 1-3.
