Watching them play at Memphis reminds me of old times when we used to kick off the season there at liberty bowl stadium.
It seemed like the folks from northwest and northeast Mississippi always made the trip over for the game. A lot of times the game would coincide with the mid south fair.
I remember paying $20 to park in a guys yard with his guarantee that he would watch it until we came back. It was a good investment.
I remember Memphis always had a section of hardcore alumni that sat between the 40 yard lines. They were guaranteed to be there no matter what.
Not counting bowl games, I don’t remember playing a game there when it wasn’t 100 degrees

Yep, did the same thing for the bowl game with Central Florida (or was it South Florida?). It must have been about a mile from the stadium, but it was a straight shot from his house. He did a good job. Whichever team it was had some pretty bad fans. They seemed to feel like they were entitled to a win.

Why the 17 did Memphis use 3 timeouts when all they had to do is kneel?

UCF and it was very odd that they all seemed like they were from the Jersey shore.

one play I'd call is the play that requires you to hold onto the ball when you're going for the game winning TD. That happened against UM last week also! didn't care on way or the other this week but i hated it last week!
Tough couple of weeks for a Hog fan. Coulda woulda shoulda. You could easily be undefeated.

Always 100 degrees for those games and what felt like 0 degrees for the Liberty Bowl vs Air Force and Central Florida. It was so packed for CF the people next to me were so close they kept me from freezing.

I think we pick them back up for a home & away after we finish the Minnesota contract. I wish we could alternate home & aways with Memphis and Tulane all the time. Then play a SWAC team, a MAC team, and our P4 required team. That would be a decent OOC setup.

Screw Memphis. Anyone remember that they cut off the AC in our locker room in 2000 when it was 110 on the field? Our entire team was just standing in the endzone trying to find some shade. Amazing enough, Memphis AC seemed to work. Bush league ********.

Don't Never Ever Ever play Memphis in Memphis.
Man, in the past I'd disagree with this but.... I'd agree today. Silverfield has raised the level there. I believe Memphis last three SEC games in the Liberty bowl are ....

2019 Ole Miss win
2021 Mississippi St win
2025 Arkansas win.

We’ll see. With the 9-game SEC schedule we’re going to have to either buyout these G5 road games or play a 6-game home schedule some years. My guess is we’re buying these road games out and playing 7 home games. 5 P4 games & 2 buy games.

My hope is that the FCS games go away, and we keep the G5 games.

The FCS games, particularly the SWAC ones, are completely pointless. Basically playing against air, as we saw last week.

They’re not going away. At least not yet. Arkansas moved their return game from Memphis from next year to a later year & kept the 1-AA game next year.
