Would love to be a fly on the wall when he and lebby are visiting on lebby's back porch after supper and the subject turns to the talent level.

I know you were joking, but we might have finally stumbled into a favorable situation here... We get the benefit of Briles' advice, with a younger coach who is hopefully growing in the job and going to be good long term, while not suffering the fools in the media and at other schools (and some here at home) crying because we hired a proven winner who mishandled allegations against his players. I said 'might'. I'm hoping.
Those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks, clutch pearls, etc etc. Lebby and Kendall Briles were both with Art Briles every season Art was at Baylor sooooooo..........

I use it whenever I get annoyed by a "boycott everything" social justice warrior tries to shame me for Mississippi State associating with him.

I question having him around on a day you made practice open to the media. That’s questionable.
I'd hire Art Briles as OC, accept NIL money from the USAID, and give Al Jazeera exclusive broadcasting rights if it resurrected our program.
I want Art Briles on the motherfvcknig sidelines this fall.
It would be one thing if he had numerous allegations against him directly. I have a hard time seeing more moral outrage with Art Briles than Brian Kelly killing a kid. You all remember that kid tweeting out like 2 hours before his death: “I might not survive practice this afternoon”, right?

I'm all for it. Idc what the situation was. Just win baby. I dont even mind if he brought some hookers with him. Biggest problem with that is when the money runs out they cry rape
admittedly i typed with at least partial implicit sarcasterisks...I'm not quite at the point of Hugh Freeze level soul selling...2025 may break me...
Unless Art has put on quite a bit of muscle and found some eligibility I'm not to optimistic about him helping anything this season. We have serious personnel issues when compared to teams on our schedule with a pulse.

I was thinking Arnett might make Spurrier Jr OC to leverage Sr into possibly providing some mentoring back when. Of course that was me with no inside knowledge of situations and relationships

I find it inconsistent that we are expected to black ball Art Briles out of civilized life all together while Kelly gets to command a battleship to the College Football Playoffs.
Don’t forget Greg Brooks’ family is suing Kelly and the LSU coaching staff for making him practice with a deadly brain tumor. Now, those are only allegations. So, who knows, but still. Pretty serious allegations.
If you asked me which coach I’d want protecting my child under their watch - I don’t know which I’d pick. If you feel like that’s Kelly - I’m fine with it. But they seem much closer to me than the $10,000,000 pay gap and general acceptance into the world would indicate.
I think some are getting a little ahead of themselves. It’s his father in law and he’s visiting and he did the same thing at Oklahoma.
Has Lebby gotten some advice from him? Absolutely but getting bent out of shape or excited over him being at one practice is a little much. He’s not a coach or analyst for State.

didn't Ole Miss hire DJ Durkin? I don't think I would worry about about their opinion of who State uses in an advisory capacity. And for all we know, Briles might have taken a hard look at facilities, support and talent and told his son in law to get the hell out as fast as he can. 
Hell, I sure hope he has.
I was just saying, what the hell - bring his *** in here. Who's going to judge us? Ole Miss, the dirtiest program who's never won anything? Auburn, the dirtiest program in the country? Bama, who hired Sark, Kiffin, and any other former troubled soul they thought could help? LSU, who stole from sick kids and hired Brian 17'ing Kelly? The "media", who gives a 17 what they think?

I know what you're saying, but surely Jeff isn't that stupid not to be asking for input around the dinner table.
Maybe now is the first time he's just said "17 it, I need your help, just come on out to practice Pops."
