It is a little slanted though. Nutt's far from the only coach who's done those things. And ifeverybody else wasin as bad shape at QB as UM is, Masoli would have more options of where to transfer.

pull the trigger on Masoli which they most likely will they are going tosee articles even tougher than this one and a bunch of them. He may be the best thing to ever happen to the UM program but he for sure will bea distraction;too many people watching with an opinion on this one and it is a boring time of year.

I thoroughly enjoyed that...I didn't know all those terrible things about Nutt. He should be a lemon car salesman.

Several posters on the Clarion Ledger blog have dismissed that article saying it is full of false statements. So I guess we can just move along; nothing to see here.

I would like to know what the inaccuracies are, though.

The reality of today’s game is that the same people who would criticize you for taking a Jeremiah Masoli would also call for your head on a platter if you go 6-6 because you didn’t have a healthy quarterback.

http://blogs.ajc.com/barn...ss-take-jeremiah-masoli/

And he's right. Nutt was quoted by Alford as saying something along the lines of worrying about the criticism he would receive if something were to happen and he didn't have a QB to finish the season. That's the truth. If we don't take him and Stanley goes down in the first couple weeks to an ACL or something like that. We're faced with playing the bulk of our schedule with an emergency QB, Mackey, that was not recruited to play QB full time.

If that happens and we go 4-8, would that be worse for Nutt than the criticism he'd take before the season if he brings in Masoli and we avoid that situation and go 7-5 or 8-4?

It's an easy answer. If Cotton were still on the team, we likely wouldn't be pursuing this as an option. Since he left unexpectedly, we're in a tough spot, and Nutt may have to take some criticism up front to make it more likely to avoid the criticism on the back end. You don't get fired for your players getting in trouble. You don't even get fired for your players flunking out of school. You get fired for losing. That's what coaches have to put first, because that's what their bosses and the fans put first.

I mean really, did Patterson do anything that is worse than Masoli? To get kicked off the team for whatever team rules he violated, surely are no worse than Masoli. I will stick with my prediction, he's never seen southern beauties like he's about to, so let's chalk him up for sexual assault and maybe grand larceny.

It will look bad. Real bad. If Masoli turns out to be a cancer on the team it will be the end for Nutt. Masoli is a huge gamble.

My point was, unless he gets caught raping Pete Boone's wife, I don't care how many games he wins or loses, Nutt isn't going anywhere. Nutt's seat is about as safe as it can be after back to back Cotton Bowl wins.

...Since this is a free country, I don't care if this guy transfers to Ole Miss or not. If some weirdo or undesirable can play football, Ole Miss is the annual "open arms university."

What I find humorous is how these conservative, Christian fanbases (like the Ole Miss fanbase) suddenly become strong affirmative action advocates when a "troubled player with a checkered past" is on the way, one who needs "a fresh start in a caring evironment."

In other words, the Ole Miss admissions dept. would never allow a thug of Masoli's caliber to enroll @ Ole Miss. But since Masoli is a football player, in Masoli's behalf, Ole Miss is willing to conduct every liberal social experiment known to man.

And I think it's the same in most places. Certainly in major football conferences.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">"Make no mistake. Dismissing Pat Patterson is another chapter in Nutt
justice. Patterson is a wide receiver, an unnecessary commodity for a
Houston Nutt football team. Wide receivers in a Houston Nutt offense
should really be called offensive DB’s-“downfield blockers” or perhaps
“decoy boys.”</span><br style="font-weight: bold;">
Hey Singleton, Brassell, and Moncrief........ take notice.

I'm not one of those who believes that Nutthates to throw the ball, but you have to admit that his track record for producing WRsandQBs isn't exactly the best in the busines, not that Mullen's is. Nutthas shown that he will pass the ball when he has the available talent, but his offenses are traditionally runoriented. When he does have a WR post great numbers, it often seems to be one WR thatgets all the catches.I don't see what is so ridiculous about saying that a WR who plays for Mullen will probably get the ball more. (assuming we ever find a QB who can throw)

A guy like Moncrief could very well be All-SEC under Nutt, but the other WRs aren't likely to get a whole lot of touches. Mullen might not have a guy with 1,000 yards receiving, but there is a better chance of multiple WRs having decent years in our offense than there is in Ole Miss'.

plays to his strengths. I am not saying that we will have receivers that will be All-Americans and first round draft picks but if Nutt has really talented receivers he will find a way to get them the ball. It is just easy to say Nutt doesn't throw the ball. He had a lot of QB's that couldn't throw it but he also had some that could run it very well. He also had a lot of good RB's and just played to their strengths. One thing that you can not disagree with is that the man has won everywhere that he has been. I am not comparing him to Saban and Meyer but he is a very legitimate coach and he is the best that we could possibly get.

What is going to happen if by chance yall don't win the your big bowl game this year? no half time camp videos, no witty openers from the chancellor, no new posters for the locker room, but I guess the bright side would be that the egg bowl clock could go back up.

who he is or where he lives. Everything, outside of the coaching insights, is dead true. Huston Nutt has a history of allowing star players to get away with murder. That's just the fact.

Damn, at least we can admit our short-comings. Just admit your coach is a no morals prick and let's move on.

is he said he was arrested for armed robbery. Removing the word "strong" from that and calling it armed robbery instead of strong armed robbery (basically mugging somebody without a weapon) is the difference in doing 3 months in juvie or about 15 years in big boy prison. Masoli is a Rule 17 up. He has enough of a rap sheet that there really isn't any reason to exaggerate. The truth is bad enough. Of course I wouldn't expect anything less from a bat **** crazy Arkansas fan from West Helena.<div>Read more about the author here.</div><div>http://courts.arkansas.go...%20Schs.%20v.%20Dial.pdf</div>

but there is a huge difference in armed robbery and strong armed robbery. Like I said, Masoli provides enough material where there really isn't any reason to exaggerate. If it had been armed robbery, nobody would have ever heard of Jermiah Masoli besides the California prison system.

Yeah, we're the only ones who give a **** about the Egg Bowl. Why are you over here anyway? Shouldn't you be on nafoom going on and on about how bad we suck, how overrated Mullen is, how our recruiting is godawful and so forth...
