Because of Adairius Barnes' sudden switch on signing day, we lost out on Camiel. Maybe for the good ...I don't know.<div>
Barnes was contacted by the staff Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and he said nothing about not signing with MSU. Later, his mother called the coaches and said 'he doesn't think he can play in the SEC' so he signed with Tech.</div><div>
</div><div>Upon hearing this, the staff contacted Camiel, who had already faxed his paperwork to Indiana. </div><div>
</div><div>I thought yesterday that we needed a receiver instead of another lineman and I guess I'll stick with that assessment. Artimas has a way to go to get his grades. It can be done.</div><div>

we were going to get Samuel anyway just a semester later as a grayshirt. So really we could have had Camiel AND Samuel if Barnes had been truthful with our coaches.

Marcello had an article today that Barnes and his family knew for a week that he was going to Tech. I preferred another WR over another Lineman..but I would rather he let Dan and crew know so they could decide....

called Camiel to try and get him and he said he had faxed the paperwork less than 5 minutes earlier. Could have had him.

Actually I'm a tad suprised we went ahead and just offered Samuels the spot instead of waiting a bit to see if some kind of weird surprise happened that would allow someone to fall in our lap ala Chaney years ago.

But that could still happen I guess since Samuels still has some work to do in the classroom.

I do agree though that I bet Mullen had one hell of a reaction when he learned both of the Barnes decision and how little he missed Camiel by

given we were going to get Samuel in January anyway. Might have been a good idea to see if more of an impact player became available or just hold the scholly open to fill in December with an EE Juco.

No doubt Mullen knows more than me, but..I REALLY want us to have a big strong fast WR. The kind of guy that almost every other SEC school has 2 or 3 of. The kind of guy that makes DBs look like little boys.
