if this costs the SEC a NC, the conference will be pissed.

if you rat on another school, it's hard to getthat schoolto "look the other way"....

Cheating goes on all the time. But if you are dumb enough to get caught, then you deserve the full weight of whatever penalties can be brought on you. You cheat to gain an advantage, and then in Auburn's case you reap the millions of extra dollars of possible benefit from it. Without Cam Newton, Auburn is a Liberty Bowl team. With him, the are a National Championship contender.Millions of dollars right there, not to mention all the extra press they get which could be a recruiting tool for the future. You get caught, and you deserve to be punished. Plain and simple. </p>

There may be minor ripple effects, but the only school mad at us will be Auburn, and State did everything it was supposed to do to protect its own hide. We have not accused Auburn of anything. We just washed our hands clean of this whole mess...

* Take our cowbells
* Give us bad officiating
* Tell the video replay official to always agree with the call on the field
* Have Slive sit on his hands and not applaud while in attendance while our All-American basketball center breaks and NCAA record
* Suspend a football player the first time a CUSA team whines about us playing rough
* Not go to bat for us on the NCAA-eligibility of a highly-touted basketball recruit
* Turn their back on us during NCAA tournament selection time
* Screw us out of a SEC basketball championship by having the officials all but modify the scoreboard to benefit the Kentucky Wildcats

Sorry, all I've got a is a big SCREW YOU SEC!!!!

Take our damn bells. You're going to do it anyway. Screw us in every way imaginable. You're going to do that anyway too.

We're getting to laugh for once and I like it!!

I've always felt like MSUis suppose to sit by and be good little boys and girls so we can get our share. That is not something I can personally do in life, and I hope our University feels the same way.

then go right ahead, but there are other schools interested in seeing Auburn getting their stud taken away. Any guess who?

if they do something now- LSU suddenly is undefeated heading into Saturday and Bammer wont have to face him in a couple weeks

if they do something after the fact as they always do- the SEC just has to vacate the title- and at that point, nobody gives a ****...ask USC

Remember Albert Means? What happened to Tennessee from all that?

Everyone cheats right? Well, our SEC brothers had no problem taking Jackie Wayne to the NCAA! Pay back is Cold hard *****! Bama I bet is very happy about this **** as you are. Cheesdick and AU are about to take on up the azzz. This sounds like the scale of the Phat Albert deal only this time the Mule made it on campus. Whats so sad is once again Cam will be left out in the cold. The kid could have just play at MSU and went on to the NFL after this year.

With the way Mississippi State has been treated by the SEC over the years, I could not give a lesser **** what the rest of the schools think. I don't think MSU needs others to "look the other way" as much as certain SEC schools do.

if yall do, it may adversely affect the possibility of consecutive NCs for Bammer...

it's definately gonna put yourself on Auburn's radar just behind Bama and Georgia...

additionally, if a recruit is good enough to demand money, and does, yall have no chance at gaining their trust.....

....they will be afraid you will turn them in if they reject your offer...

and that would be a high % of 4 stars and all most all the 5 stars (not scientific, of course:)

Auburn brought Chizik and other dirty coaches in and right away started bringing in the top classes. It was only a matter of time before they got caught. They had the arrogance to put that kind of money up for Newton. Then SI and others to write all these articles about how he wanted to come to State, but his dad didn't want him to. What did they think was gonna happen?

Sounds more like CYA on our part than accusing anyone else of wrong-doing. We are talking 200k allegations. It's best to cross your t's and dot your i's if you don't want to get 17ed on this. I doubt we are stirring the pot for the fun of it. I doubt our figureheads aren't well aware of our place in the SEC food chain.

Now, somehow or another, the SEC might 17 us over by making an issue of it in the first place (by informing them after the fact), but that's a much bigger and separate issue. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

if what is alleged to have happened really happened. The part I DON'T like is John Bond running his mouth to ESPN.com are any other media outlet about something that apparently is already under investigation. KEEP YOUR DANG MOUTH SHUT! Talking to the media DOES fuel bad feelings with another school even if he didn't directly accuse Auburn of anything.

The point was, UT turned in Bama and you haven't seen any lack of great recruits flocking there....and I can guarantee you that they are getting paid as well.

I don't see where we turned Auburn or anyone else in for anything. We simply reported that Newton was being pimped out for $200K to the appropriate people. If Auburn decided to purchase, then they only have themselves to blame.

We may have brought it to the attention of the SEC, but THEY forwarded it to the NCAA. The SEC could have "handled" this themselves, but they obviously thought they had to pass it on for whatever reason. We did everything Slive dictated that he wanted done in this situation.

wouldn't like this case. Paying players is a big part of your program. By the way, MSU does not give a 17 about how you, Bama, Auburn, etc. feel about this situation. Much like theway that theSEC and it's members could give a **** lessabout our feelingsas it relates toour cowbell tradition, Renardo's suspension, and the witch hunt that occurred during the JWS years.
