As long as we're talking about SBW - what's the deal

with it being on a week when the baseball games are Thurs., Fri., Sat.? This may have already been discussed, but I think that's seriously going to hurt attendance.
I could be wrong, but I just don't see that many people coming into town for possibly one baseball game and a football scrimmage (with or without concert). I know it's unlikely that I'll come down from Memphis for that weekend, since I wouldprobably miss all of the Thursday baseball game and most of the Friday game. I doubt I'm the only one. It just seems like an odd decision.

but the Thursday game will be on TV.

If it's a homecoming weekend of sorts, you sure aren't making it easy for it to be homecoming.

Good point about the Thursday game being on TV. Still, there are a lot of weekends with Fri.-Sun. baseball series, which would make it much more likely that I (and I assume others) would make the effort to get to Starkville that weekend.

So it wont deter those folks. it may hurt attendance, but I dont see it seriously hurting attencance. if ticket prices are jacked up for the concert, I would think thatll have a more profound effect.

know we had to agree to it but its not like it was originally planned as Th, Fr, Sa instead of Fr, Sa, Su. And like lawdawg said, I think the majority of fans are 1 day fans anyway, its hard for most to come up on Fr in time for game and most Sun games are low attendance games anyway.

I don't know when the Thurs. night game happened compared to when the dates were set for SBW (although one year I think they moved SBW after announcing the dates and I assume could do so again).

It may be that most people drive up for the day. I just think that if they're trying to make it a sort of spring homecoming, doing it on a weekend without a Sunday game makes it less likely that people from more than a few hours away will make it. With most of the alumni base more than a few hours' drive from Starkville, I just think you end up making it tough for a fair amount of people to justify the trip, when (I assume) it could just as easily be on a weekend that has a Sunday baseball game.
