I dont really like any of this.
Join the club, It's ridiculous that they couldn't come up with a better plan. I mean if some teams get snowed out they said only 7 games with no make-ups allowed. Some teams could go into the playoffs with maybe only 5 games played, so how will that determine the brackets, teams playing 7 games and some may have 5 or even 4 ? I guess they will have to scrape the snow off the field, oh but that want work because the traveling team to snow or icy roads want be going.
Beats me ! ! !

In 1a west football there will be more than 1 wildcard team....little Smokey doesn't play football so that will be another wild card spot....southern conference and Pac 7 combine for a 9 team football conference instead of 4 automatic bids (2 from each) there will be 3 automatic bids...so that will be another wildcard spot...and the central tar heel conference doesn't play football so that's 2 more wildcard spots...yadkin valley only has 8 teams playing football so that opens up another wildcard spot....so there will be 6 wildcard spots for football in 1a.

Yes for all sports except football....I explained why football will have 6 instead of just 1. I agree the way they draw names out of a hat is rediculous....maxpreps rankings are usually legit

Bk a lot of teams are just playing conference games this spring....like the MVAC but we have an 8 team conference. Although I have yet to see any schedules released on maxpreps....at least all these new rules are pointing towards playing....hope comrad Cooper doesn't shut sports down

Since they do whatever they want to, they could divide the MVAC into MVAC 1 & MVAC 2 sense only 7 games allowed.

So looking at this, Murphy goes big 1a and rville goes little 1a. In my opinion if Murphy can get all its players back we could see the SMC win both titles.

Did I miss something? Is that not a POSSIBILITY every year? But it's ALWAYS the same question, if Murphy goes big 1AA

KW MVAC schedules have been set at this point, if I remember correctly they didn’t change anything it’s just your conference games from a year ago with the location flipped

Slim to none on that happening. Even if they get the players you're referring to back they will still be missing people, Cornwell isnt playing this year to focus on baseball and Swain transferred to Union for wrestling. Both would've been surefire starters, one of them both ways.

Swain is still at murphy, Cornwell is playing football as long as there is a baseball season at Murphy.

You sand bagging mbdfan? Lol
Nope, things change quickly with kids, or maybe I should say parents I guess. I've not been keeping up with things closely this past year but the last I had heard a month or so ago neither of those kids were in the fold. Clearly "pantherdad" is more in the loop with Murphy athletics than I am.

One thing I do know unequivocally is that legal proceedings for one of the other kids was postponed until mid spring, can't play ball with a pending felony charge, so as I said the chances for those particular two playing are slim and none I would say. And I know that you know Gentle how important one of those two is to Murphy's team, Murphy's ceiling clearly isn't the same if he's not out there.

58 days, the silly season of murmuring has started
With the longest offseason in history there's bound to be all kinds of stuff out there, some of it chatter and some of it legitimate. Although speaking for myself I try not to post anything unless I have a first hand account of it or it comes from a reliable source and in regards to what I was told about a kid transferring and another focusing on a different sport it came from reliable means. The last 9 months as a whole has been the silliest of seasons as far as I'm concerned, lol.

In my opinion,he's the most important player Murphy has..by far.

Very true...BUT there is not another anywhere close to that one player.
If what pantherdad said is accurate about Swain and Cornwell playing then I honestly dont think it would have a major impact on the offense, where it would hurt badly not having him is on defense.

Now if none of the three are playing then you are looking at a Murphy o-line and d-line that will have no depth and not be anywhere close to what it could've been.

I could see Murphy being a very heavy passing team this year, McCraken and abling and aguilar, returning quarterback who is also a running threat. After losing Murray, Murphy could change up the playbook some.

NCHSAA rules don’t ban a kid until conviction happens, but under Cherokee Co. rules a kid with a pending felony has to win an administrative hearing in front of a committee of county principals, ADs and board members to be eligible. So I think your conclusion of slim chances of playing is right.

Not at all. He won't see the field at Florida period. Better off at app st I thought. SEC huge different from little mountain ball
The SEC is a huge difference from ANY high school football 🤡 . He might not make it at Florida, but my guess is that he will because #1 he has the physical tools and size, #2 he's a smart kid (father is a doctor and his three older brothers are all college graduates), #3 he has the right work ethic and #4 he's coachable.

If he doesnt make it, it won't have anything to do with having played in the SMC. If you need further proof the other 3 high major D1 scholarship football players to come out of Murphy that I'm familiar with all started at their respective colleges: Wake Forest, Tennessee, NC State. Two of them were NFL draft picks, the third was freshman all ACC before he tore his knee up, so he very well might have gotten drafted too otherwise. It sure doesn't seem like "little mountain ball" was an impediment to their next level success.
