From talking to friends who'd had it done, I thought it would be like a root canal - painful while it's being done, painful the rest of the day, but then mostly all better the next day. Instead mine was only mildly uncomfortable while being done (physically, at least - there were certain humiliating aspects of it I won't go into), mildly uncomfortable the rest of the day (I popped some Advil and didn't need frozen vegetables), but then it stayed mildly uncomfortable for about a week. Hard to describe other than you were constantly aware of where the boys were every waking moment. But after about a week it was smooth sailing.
