How long has the ESPN+ feed been scrambled? It's unwatchable right now.

Glad it wasn't just me. I thought my TV was screwed up. I switched to another game in another service.
I searched "Arizona State ESPN+" on Twitter and found plenty of ASU fans raging at ESPN.

ASU probably trying to keep it vanilla. Figured they could win, but not show as much as that they'll show us.

38-19 ASU Final.

Late TD for N. Arizona to make it closer, like our game.

Nothing overly impressive. The QB and star receiver had good games.

We should compete with them and have a chance to win. We'll see if that happens.

They looked like world beaters their first two drives. Been playing even with their FCS opponent since the first 10 minutes.

I'm sure they win by 4 TDs, but there's nothing yet to make me think they're as good as last year's team.
Except that they essentially are last years team. That was a scrimmage last night.

They lost a running back who ran for 262 yards on us last year and finished 5th in the Heisman voting. That makes them a little different team.
They signed a guy who had 1,000 yards rushing at Army last year. For some reason he only had 2 rushes for 19 yards last night. As a team they had 203 yards on 19 carries. If we’re counting on them not being able to run the ball, I think we’re mistaken.

I'm not counting on that, but I really don't care what they did against an FCS school running the ball. I expect them to run it well on us, but not like last year. And I really, really doubt they have a RB anywhere in Tempe that's nearly as good as scattershot last year.

I think our D will play better against them this year. It's the offense that has to put some points up. We can't wait till the 2nd half to start moving the ball like last year.

We have the better passing QB and we really need him to show that if he gets some protection (big if).

This game kinda reminds me of the 2021 game against NC State. They're coming in highly rated, and it's obvious that they were a lot better than us last year, but something just feels like we might take them down. The SEC (and now Big 10) are a cut above the other power conferences.

They lost a generational running back, an all American center who is now with the Lions, and their two time defensive MVP. Other than that they have a lot of guys back.

Dillingham mentioned he'd told his OC to "Air it out" because they've got a bunch of new receivers. And the presumed #2 was banged up. I think they kind of knew they had to get mistakes on tape because the WRs not named Tyson and McClain didn't do **** (McClain had a 50 yarder wiped out by an OL deciding to drift downfield for some reason). Part of that was the presumed WR2 Moss being banged up early but given that the RBs only had 14 carries and went for 130 yards, I think they were more interested in working out the kinks than just putting an FCS team to bed.

The penalties should be alarming though. Some really, really dumb ones. The OL didn't look dominating either and the RT who's supposed to be a future day 2 pick was out at one point, though I think he returned.

They averaged over 9 yards per rush & gave up 2 sacks in 41 drop backs.

Isn’t it amazing that Arizona State is getting hyped up by our “fans” for their performance against an FCS school but many give Hutzler zero credit for anything that happened against the Buzzards
It’s the most illogical inconsistent thing ever.

we suck bc we didn’t demolish usm
ASU is awesome bc they averaged high ypA against a team a lot worse than usm

You’re acting like last year never happened for either team. Sure some new players for both teams. But most are the same. Also, I’m not sure how much better USM is than No Arizona. I’m sure USM would win, but it would be a fairly close game.

Edit to add I don't know that there's anyone who doesn't think we're improved over last season based on what we saw Saturday. How much improved remains to be seen, which is fair when we beat what was maybe the worst FBS team in the country last year.

I’m not acting like anything about last year. We sucked.

But there are people who are using our game against usm as proof we suck but ignoring ASUs game.

There are people saying there is no evidence of improving.

They may not be explicitly saying it but they are implying it.

We may suck this year.
Lebby may suck.
We don’t know yet.

I don't know about the rest of our fans hyping them but I am because AZ St won their conference and went to the playoffs last year. They return 16 starters (72%) from that team. The returning QB threw for 2,900 yds and 24 TDs and had just 6 picks last season and is in the Top 10 preseason Heisman outlook. Their top receiver is back and had 75 catches for 1,100 yds and 10 TDs despite missing almost 3 full games. Scattebo is gone thank goodness but they replaced him with a transfer from Army that had 1,117 rushing yds and 10 TDs last season. None of those numbers or that production has anything to do with "beating an FCS school" in their opener this season. Those are numbers from a team that was picked last in their conference preseason last season.

As for Hutzler, you thinking he should "be hyped" because he beat the "Buzzards" that were 1-11 last season, have a new coaching staff and overhauled roster, just because he beat them? He had the worst defense last season (maybe better than Sirmon's but I digress) I have ever seen and was a big reason we went 2-10, he has a lot of catching up to do before he gets "hyped"

I think you're overreacting. There were some good things from Saturday and some bad ones. And we were playing a pretty bad team, there's just no way around that. People cut ASU some slack because they proved last year they've got a lot of good players.

I mean I get what you’re saying but that all conference team with all that talent beat us by a touchdown last year.
Our sh!tty a$$ team from last year only lost to this all world ASU team by a touchdown!
Skataboo torched our *** for 300 on the ground and we still only lost by one score.

not saying we dominate but with the right breaks it can go our way

im not really reacting at all.
We looked slightly improved. You stated that as well.
Winning Saturday is an upset. I’ll be ecstatic if we do. I’ll be happy if it’s a close game when it ends to a certain degree.

my only reaction is to inconsistent illogical comments on this board.

They were up 30-3 w/ 6:00 minutes to go in the 3rd and cleared the bench. We scored a TD w/ 5 minutes to go when it was long over.
We can very well beat them on any given day (Remember the Maine!) but for them not to have hype is dumb

It's amazing to me how many posters completely ignore this. They could have beat us by 40 if they wanted to. They won't beat us by 40. But this is a very tough game. One of the toughest on our schedule this year.

Off on a tangent here but, yes this will be a tough opponent. In my worthless opinion, if it is one of the top 3 toughest, it’s an indictment on 1) the conference slipping a bit 2) the unpredictability now due to transfers, etc. I don’t think az st will be quite up to the level of last year. Still good enough to mud stomp us.
