After they had their living **** kicked out of them by West Virginia, the Terps may not have a legitimate chance at winning another game, this season. They likely won't be favored in their next six games and their only hopes rest on their games against IU and RU to close out the season.

Things don't bode well for Edsall. Big question, who will make a coaching switch first, us or them? And, who will make the better coaching change (assuming both schools do after this season)?

They played better in the 2nd half but WVU may have been coasting by then. I thought the difference in overall speed between the two teams was shocking. Md's QB looked shell shocked but it did seem like WVU had 13-14 defensive players on the field the way they were flying around.

Well, you know, Edsall played his third QB this season, which some here insist that Flood should do. In the end, you discover that none of the QBs have enough talent or are ready.

They have a top 5 basketball team and whose to say WVU wouldn't have done the same to us yesterday.

Don't be silly.

We couldn't manage a TD against WVU....we couldn't manage one against TTFP, but how dare we as fans think we're a prestigious program like Buffalo or SDSU...are their coaches men of integrity?????!!!!

I'm not an Edsall fan, but he proved at UCONN that he could do more with less. Certainly not seeing that with our team.
As for them not winning another game, the same can surely be said for us too.
Our end of season match up should be a real crowd favorite.

Maryland put up 411 yards and 35 points on USF's D. FSU put up 441 yards and 21 points on USF's D.

....I wouldn't say "at least we're not Maryland" just yet. WVU would have rocked us on Saturday.

Even Mike Locksleys recruiting hasn't helped RE this year and he was always a mediocre bad recruit HC...after getting exposed where those guys saying how great a HC RE was....unreal how ML saved RE's butt temporarily and all of a sudden he's Vince Lombardi...some were even so called RU fans.

Maryland will be just fine. They have Kevin Plank's Under Armour money behind them. Money will not be a factor when it comes time to find a new coach, can't say the same for us.

We both suck. But Dwayne Haskins could be Edsall's - Teddy Bridgewater..

Haskins is taking at least one official and although he's paying lip service to staying with Maryland, if they keep going down the crapper and their few other decent recruits bolt (KeAndre Jones and Tino Ellis are both 50/50 to stay), he may decide that he doesn't want to spend his college career getting pummeled and losing games and go south.

Money might not be a factor for MD but finding a good coach is. They found Edsall (after doing a pretty good job at UConn), offered him money, then proceeded to watch as nothing materialized. Edsall's record at UConn is mediocre, at best. His recruiting (aka "The Movement") has a lot of hype but I'm not sure just how much there is to show for it. And, yet again, Edsall might very well be facing a losing season.

So, after last season (when many were saying that his seat is getting warm), wouldn't MD want to also make a coaching switch? Particularly after they restructured Edsall's contract in their favor?

OK, maybe we are not Maryland. But we are closer to Maryland than we are to Penn State, and I'm not geography here.

This is all just a bump in the road. HCRE is the next Vince Lombardi according to some posters on this board.

Oh, I'm not throwing stones. Quite the contrary. Some here look at the kinds of problems we are now experiencing - some of which were known or predicted, and some not - and imagine that the sky is falling. But, when compared to other programs, which are paying significantly more for their coaches and whose fans believed that, after five years, would finally deliver, things here may not seem as bad.

Flood was, most certainly, a known commodity. A position coach, with no previous head coaching experience, but who would carry on Schiano's ethic and standards. And, he has done exactly that. The only thing he could be faulted for is the scandal involving the professor and Barnwell's grades, and how that has made him look (more than how that may have made the school look). But, for some, that's enough and want him out.

If I were a Terps fan, I would be significantly more frustrated.

Well at least when we lose to them at home, it will deal Flood's fate.

This is a funny post. The six games you are bringing up are the same opponents that Rutgers plays this year with the exception of Maryland playing Iowa and us playing Nebraska. Maryland has the more difficult schedule since they played West Virginia and we played Kansas.

Edsall will be there longer since they signed a 3 years extension to 2019.

No, Dave. MD already finished their OOC schedule. We still play Army. And, with the way Iowa is playing this year, that will be just as tough a game for them as Nebbie will be for us (although, we get the Huskers at home).

And, I don't think you saw my point about MD restructuring Edsall's contract (in the extension), making his buyout even cheaper. Which, at the rate he's going, they will surely exercise.

His buy out is 2.5 million before Jan 2017 so he's there for next season. See the second article attached. Flood will be gone end of this season or next for sure before Edsall. Maryland has 4 4 star recruits this season which helps.
